Problems with 4.03 - Video drivers not updated?
Just upgraded to 4.03 from 3.321 and have had a few problems with it. Hoping that 4.04 does come out Tuesday to see if it correct these quirks. I'm running XP Pro with 2.2 gig dual core Athlon 64, 2 gig memory, 320 gig hd. The previous Hoster (3.321) ran great. Upgraded and now the words are cutoff at the bottom on the singers screen, has crashed 3 times during my shows Friday and Saturday and also did not keep the rotation when restarted. Once during Saturdays show a singer that was in the rotation but had not given me a song until I called him up and Hoster went to play the next song on the playlist, (which wasn't the singers song) and I went to stop it but the stop button was yellow and wouldn't work. I finally got it to stop by closing Hoster down and restarting again losing all singers and songs on the playlist. Also, had problems with synching of words and music, and everything, play, search, downloading, ect. are very slow, even though downloading sped up after the 3rd song. Also when I first installed it went through my database to pick up all the songs, and didn't get every one. I only found this out because at one of my shows, a singer requested a song that he sings all the time, and the search came up empty. I had to manually go to my backup folder and import it again so he could sing it. And as far as the instabuttons are concerned, I made a new folder to put all my special effects in it to have them in a central place so I could find them all for the buttons, and Hoster only recognised 3 out of about 20, and 1 of the 3 didn't have any sound. When you go to the instabuttons settings and hit select file and pick the folder with the effects, it only shows the 3 even though I can open that folder from my desktop and it shows I have all the effects there. Does anybody have any advice? Thanx.:e

I advise that you always run a mock show at home when ever a new version is avaiable. It you had, you could have used 3.40 until you got everything setup correctly. Everything but the "missing file" and the "instabutton" thing sounds like your computer needs a new video driver to me. I hope this helps. Jim :g |

Try resizing the window by dragging it to fill the screen. If that is what you are doing now, try double clicking it. Also like Jim said, try changing the resolution for the computer and or singer monitor. Also check for video card updated drivers. Quote:

Thanks for the back-up Mark. I keep all of my .kma files in the same folder and just assume others do the same. :s :r
Thanks again! :w Jim :g |
Fixed Video Problem
Hey Mark and Jim,
I want to thank you for all your help. My drivers and Windows update are all current and I still had the problem. I've spent the last few hours tinkering with resolutions and stuff. Found another problem which actually fixed the video, (cutting off the last sentence to sentence and 1/2). I tried double clicking the singers screen to move it to my monitor to see if resizing the singers screen would have any effect. The screen didn't migrate to my display, but it did fit itself nicely to the tv. I now can read every verse and also the marquee that was also cut off. As far as the fit on the tv screen, I can see the edge on 3 sides, but very little. In other words, it doesn't fill the entire screen, but it's close. About 1/10" on the 3 sides. As far as the music files, I do have about 5500 songs in another folder, which are my newer songs, but I instructed Hoster to get those songs also. I am going to merge those with my main database and redo and see if it'll pick them up. I still haven't messed with the instabuttons because I've been messing with the video problem, but I'll get around to it. Also it is still slow as far as play, stop, etc. I went to edit some songs, and it takes 8 - 10 seconds for the screen to load. Actually, I just tried opening it again, and it did better, about 2 seconds. So, so far, so good. Thanx again, JR:) |
Manual
Run Hoster in Manual mode not auto it will work better.
