NOT a DJ or a KJ...just an Average Joe.

Hello Folks,

I bought the Hoster program a year and a half back. I've never had the opportunity to use it except fooling around on my computer.

Now, I need a single song and I can't play it for the life of me.

Sad story in a nutshell, my girlfriends father is terminal with cancer, and she wants me to sing a song at his funeral. I ordered the cdg karaoke disc. (Thank You by Ray Boltz on Daywind Contemporary Christian Hits Vol. 2)

I've tried 4 different CD drives. I've tried to rip it in Hoster. I've tried to rip it in my roommates PCDJ. I've tried to rip it with AudioGrabber. I just CAN NOT get a copy that the text doesn't come out totally garbled.

I understand the answer in advance. Buy the right cd drive. Upgrade to 4.0. Those answers just are not realistic in my case. I've already got $150.00 invested in a software that I'll never use professionally.

I need one song from one cdg to sing at one funeral.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Thanks,

Paul/Vash

Thanks Goonie...the disc is spotless. It's never been used.

What version of Hoster do you have?
What brand/type of disc drives are they?
What is the song you are trying to import?
What brand and discid is the CDG disc?
First thing I would suggest is to go to Microsoft's Update web page and do the Custom Updates (do not use the Express as it will not give you all of them). Many times it is the computer causing the problem and not the disc itself.

Paul, if I understand you correctly, and you just need one song from one cdg to sing at a Funeral, you don't need Hoster for that. If you just want to sing 1 song at a funeral, you don't need a copy. A CDG will play in an ordinary CD player - it just doesn't show the words. And, if you need the words just to rehearse, do you or anyone you know have a karaoke player that you can hook up to a TV just long enough for you to learn the song?

My wife has a couple of the small DVD players for movies and it just so happens they will also play CDG files complete with the Lyrics on the screen. If you have one of those try it and see if it will work.
