Singers Disks not working

something for mtu to look into used 4.03 for the first time tonight ran a rebuild had a lot that would not work with 3.04 after build.
Good thing I had 3.04 also with install of 4.03 thanks guys.
One other problem was that singers disks or tracks added to one file worked fine. But if you open another file and then go back to the one with tracks added from singers disks they dont work and you would need to add again dang. But i must say it could be me no sp3 upgrade yet or media player that maybe the reason. Just thought i would mention it for a fix if needed

How are they not working? They add but get errors? or don't show up so you can't add them? etc.
What kind of files are they, cdcdg, hdmp3g etc.
Need some details.

This is a normal part of the piracy prevention. You can only add them to the playlist you will play it from and as soon as they are played to the end or Hoster is closed they are deleted.

singers disks

No this is not normal worked fine before now and what im saying is when you add a singers track from there disk on play list one it should stay there till it is played. But if you open another playlist say list 2 then goback into the 1st playlist the imported singers track is unavailable has not been played yet so it should still be there and work just like if you had a crash when you restart they would work fine before this version.

Changing playlists in the middle of a show is not something we typicly test for but I just took a look and as soon as you open a new (or old) playlist, the temporary singer track import gets deleted. I found you could avoid this if you have a second instance of Hoster open . You'd have to play with this to see if it works in your situations. It might also create new problems.

The explanation I got from them when I asked this question was that to protect us and the individual who owns the song they cannot legally leave it as available in this instance or if you close Hoster and re-open it. ANd actually it has always been that way. The only way one is saved is if Hoster crashes (has to be closed by Task Manager) and you re-open it.
As Sam said the only way around this is to open another copy of Hoster to open the new list.

yup thanks guys

yes i see that i must have had hoster program opened twice and it worked ok that way not a big deal just throught it should work until the song was played. not sure why if they can open other formats of files in k-oke like maybe even zip files at some point. i think that would be a better place to play a track off the disk then the slow import way that it is now but good to have it any way we can get it lol

Zip files were allowed through the K-oke button, but now are not and eventually will not be allowed by Hoster at all. Any imported through the Import from HDD now are converted (unzipped) to MP3+G. The conversion utility that was in 4.02 will be coming back in sometime in the future to convert all existing zip files. When Hoster has to unzip a file to play it the wait time was being extended to long, so to get rid of the problem zip files will not be used.

zips

i just found out that you could use zips but i never tried that till now thought hoster would never use zip files was a good idea hope they can find a way to work around zip problem if not oh well .
once all the toys are working will be a great program again.
