Add Track Database Search Problem

I always keep the track database search up.

Sometimes when i switch back and forth from the search to the main screen it will have a little skip in the music. Most of the time the lyrics stay in sync but it's still noticable.

It happens about once out of every twenty times, I don't believe I do anything differently. I didn't notice that anybody else had the same problem out here on the forums:????

It's on a laptop that I converted from Vista to XP, I have done all the custom updates and driver updates. Any ideas:???!!

If you converted a laptop to XP that originally came with Vista pre-installed, it is more than likely a Microsoft and/or pc manufacturer problem. I was thinking of doing the same thing when I first bought my Vista laptop. But after reading the problems people were having, I did research on the net. It is recommended that this NOT be done because hardware and software that come pre-installed use different drivers that are unique to the specific system (i.e. Vista or XP) that are not always compatible with each other. So, you might want to go to the manufacturer's website and be sure you have the correct drivers for the system you are now running, instead of what came pre-installed.

:) I also have a laptop that I upgraded to XP. It sounds like a resources issue to me. I also keep the search window open and have not had any dropouts. One thing I do when I get ready for my show is disable my wireless network connection and close down all background programs like anti virus and such. That way I only have hoster running. I also ran msconfig from Start/Run and disabled all start up programs that are not needed. Hope this helps.

Thanks!!
I'll give those things a try and see if that takes care of it.
I do bring up notepad to keep track of my rotation I hope I can continue to do that.

I'll report what I find, Thanks, Again:)

Yes, you can still use Notepad. The best thing to do is to read the Manual regarding installation. There is a complete list of things that should be turned off. This does not include stopping word or notepad or other essential programs.

skips

I have had the same problem with the music skip when closing the search screen, twice in one 3 hr. set, that was my first gig after loading 4.03. Then on the next gig I had the lyric's go out of sync after about 2 1/2 hrs. I have shut down everything I know of that I can shut down for memory reasons, I do have 1 gig of memory. Still happy with the program and can live with some problems, I'm sure all these problems will get worked out.
