Minor issue

:) Hello all. I ran my show Friday night with only one minor issue in 4.03. It may be a Windows issue. When you select audio and then select an audio song from a folder you have to click on it and select open. If you double click on the file to add it to the play list it will cause hoster to have to shut down.

Like I said, very minor. One thing I did find is if you are working with hoster without the s video connection to your external Monitors it is a good idea to go to tools and options and reset the display. If not, the program gets confused when you hook up the external again and will hang up the pc.

I did some more tests today and by making sure I reset the display it works flawless. Love the instabuttons and slide controls for volume.

If these are Audio files you use all the time for your shows why not import them? Then all you have to do is select them from the search window or by BookID if you keep a list of them.:g That way it doesn't have to be imported every time you want to play them.
My only suggestion would be to keep them separate by assigning a group of bookIDs way above what your highest ID is for your Karaoke ones are. That way you can search for the higher bookids to find them. Just a thought.

Dale, in the Search dialog we added "Karaoke" , "Audio" and "Video" (not useful yet) buttons so you can limit what you are searching on.

Now, if you are using a BookID to enter the song, then it doesn't matter what it is, you must already know it to enter it... I think. :?

I like your style! :g However, I clicked the Audio button in the Hoster screen, selected a MP3G folder, double-clicked an MP3 file in that folder and it added to my playlist. I'm running XP Home with SP3.

Did the same with a .wav file and it too added. :?

I don't have a WMA. If that is what you added, is it a DRM protected wma? If so, that might be the problem. What type of audio file did you try to add?

We do instruct in the manual to always turn your monitor on first. I don't think it would change things whether your s-video converter wasn't plugged into your computer, or your monitor wasn't plugged into the s-video converter. Either one prevents Windows from getting signals back to enable Display #2. Do you think I'm wrong? If so, give me whatever else you can, and I'll get MTUSUPPORT to test this out. I want our manual to be correct.

Regretfully, we don't know any way to overcome the second display not being connected. That is a Windows flaw. :r

Great about the resetting right.

Wonderful! I'm glad you like the Instabuttons and volume. Just a question... what Windows OS are you running, and do BOTH your Main and Music controls work? Some of our Betas find only one or the other working on Vista. :r

:) Good Morning. For the Music files I have both MP3 and wma files. I tried both. I run Windows XP Home with SP3. Really is such a minor issue anyway and I have started importing some of them. I like that feature too. It will take a while as I have to go in and rename all the files to get them into the correct format for import.

Both volume sliders are working.

With the lockup problem what I had done was I ran a successful show on Friday night then did a shutdown on the computer and took all connections loose and packed it up and took it home. It is a Toshiba laptop. Then on Saturday after I got up I grabbed the laptop and started it up to add some wav files to play some train sounds and such for my next show. When I opened hoster the show display filled my screen. I double clicked it and it went away. I then added some instabuttons and stuff. I then took the laptop to my show Saturday evening and hooked everything up. I always turn on my external monitors, amplifier, mixer etc...before starting the laptop. When I opened hoster the show display was showing on the external monitor but was not filling the screen and the scrolling marquee was going slow. When I clicked on any button in hoster the whole machine locked up and I could not even end the program through task manager. I had to do a total power reset to get it back up. I wound up using 3.40 for the night. After the show I turned off the PC and unplugged everything and then turned it back on and did the Reset as mentioned before and all is well. By doing the reset and then turning off the machine and hooking everything back up I can double click on the show display and it goes to my externals like it should and all works well.

Again I am very happy with the program and I really like having 3.40 available when something goes wrong. I feel this was more human error on my part than something wrong with the program. However, it does work differently than prior versions.

:) Update. Show this past friday night was flawless. Even adding audio files with double click worked. Maybe I just needed a computer restart. I have to say that having the instabuttons really makes the show fun.
