Hoster 4.0.2.0 HDZip Problem
Hi, first time user of the help forum. Here is my probem. :e
I down loaded 4.0.2.0 and at the start up of Hoster a window popped up giving me the option to convert HDZip Files. I checked that I had a back up file & ran the program. 90% of the way through it would hang up and give me the following message. File not found: c\users\public\music\mtu\songs\TOM-169-1.kma please make sure the volume is mounted and then click OK to retry this file click cancel to bypass this file . When I click OK or Cancel nothing happens the message is frozen.:m I have to go to task manager to get out of the window. I have reinstalled with the same results. I am running XP SP3-IE7 2gb of memory. With the word public in the message I thought I may have copied the file from my Vista onto the XP so I deleted the file and downloaded an earlier version of it that wasn't transferred from vista. Still no luck Any Suggestion:)--Hawkman |
Try going to 3.4 and rebuild the database using the current location. I am guess that would be C:\MTU\KMA Files. If you haven't looked for 3.4 it is located in C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster. The file is called Hoster34.exe.

Dale, thanks so much for the information.:)
It appears to be working now with the changes. Can you tell me what they meant when the message indicated to MAKE SURE THE VOLUME IS MOUNTED? When your using the songverter and converting zip files what format should I be putting them into now? Hawkman |
HDBIN or what Hoster converts them to, HDMP3G. If you choose HDMP3G, all fo your zip files will be the ones in this format. Might help keep things consistant. :w

Thanks for the help.:) I converted everything.:g

I also clicked the message saying for "advanced seach features" to work properly, I needed to unzip my zipped files. While I could still find the files with a search, when I clicked play with a singer standing there ready to start, I got a message saying "Bad zip file" and had to scramble to find either another version of that song if I had duplicates or find them another song.
Yes, I am running the notorious Windows Vista. Had to copy from back up hard drive and start over. From now on until I hear it is safe, I'll do without the advanced search features since song/artist searches work without unzipping, |

What advanced search features are you talking about? Are you using Hoster 4.02 or 3.4? |
I was using 4.02, upgraded to 4.03 last night and no problems so far. I'm not sure what the advanced search features were, that is what the pop up message said. Looks like one of the things that got fixed.
But thanks for trying. |

In other words MTU is getting ready for future features by dealing with zip files now. The zip format is very inconsistant, different bit rates and the such, we won't miss 'em. (I hope I'm not repeating myself. :s) Jim :g |

As long as it is working in 4.03 then all is well. |

Need your help once again.
So far everything you have ask me to do has worked:)
I just tried downloading hoster 4.0.3.0 on my computer with XP sp3 I keep receiving the following error message and cannot download the file.:r (I have not had this problem in the past and have 4.0.2.0 downloaded and working) Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product hoster. The windows installer cannot continue. I assume I have something missing or mis-filed. Don't know where else to look to correct. All Mtu files are in place and I don't really see anything missing.:? Hawkman |
