Uninstalling Hoster Properly

I can't install Hoster on my new laptop coz it has records of being installed on other computers. I have had it on laptops previosly but when I sold them on, I just uninstalled through the control pannel functions. I didn't realise that the website hadn't recieved the uninstall info.

I need to uninstall from a computer while online in order to allow installation on my new one. I CAN do this as I still have an old one, but want to know exactly how to go about it, so as the site will register it properly.

Can anyone help?

you probably should have removed the program, before you sold it, who ever you sold it out to probably re-installed it and probably using it by now...but anyway i think you have to go to mtu support site and submit a ticket, maybe you might have to buy a new license or registration..good luck

It was sold to a mate who doesn't do Karaoke, so he isn't using it. and wouldn't have had the KMA files anyway. I just couldn't find any other way of removing the programme. Either on the site, in the Manual or the all programmes options when selecting Hoster. I figured it would contact the site as it uninstalled.:?

you should have went to start, control panel and add/removed programs, but anyway , go to mtu support and submit a ticket and explained to them what you did, the only problem i can see was, when you first bought the hoster program you used your original email add, i think now you have to create another email add, i'm not sure if they or you can get the program using your original email add.if you still can ask you mate for the laptop and see if your mate will let you removed the program yourself

I did do that, which is why I thought it would have done it right, but apparently not. I've sent a ticket anyway... Here's hoping.

did you removed the program in both of your laptops or just that one you sold to your mate?

Removing from the Add/Remove Programs works the same way as using the Install program to Remove it. So you were ok doing it that way.
It depends on what version you were removing as the older versions didn't report back to MTU that they have been uninstalled.
All you have to do for the later versions is be connected to the Internet and uninstall it and it will report to MTU.
Since you have submitted a ticket Support should get it fixed in a few days (weekdays not weekend days). Did you receive a confirmation email after you submitted the ticket. If you didn't check you email program to make sure MTU is allowed and not classified as Spam. They will email you when it is fixed.

Removed it form my first computer and sold it on, had already installed on my second new one.

That is in for repairs at the moment. So I installed it on a mates computer for one night to get me through a gig, and then gave it back to him having uninstalled it again.

I'm currently using my house computer, but this isn't ideal so I've bought another laptop coz apparently the repairs sre going to wipe the hard drive on the second computer, and i'll not get it back for about 2 weeks.

I've gotten my confirmation and it's version 3.110 I'm using.

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad someone was able to tell me about the earlier versions. I'm not sure though if mine is early enough for it to be the reason, but here's hoping.

Definately that one is old enough not to report. I would say time to upgrade but I would wait for 4.03 to come out at this point.

Turtleoke August 9th, 2008 11:35 AM

I'm going to buy that anyway. I love the new features. Would just be good to get this one up and running till it is released.

Thanks for all your help. :g
