Switching drives.

Ok, here's the ?. I've got my hoster program setup on my external HD, does that make a difference on how fast it works? I've updated my pc to the sp3, IE7 and i have exactly 896 MB of RAM, 789 MHz, Processor 3400+. It seems to run ok, but occasionally, the words run either ahead of/or behind the music. If I need to move it, how exactly does that work? Thanks for the help. =) :c

The processor speed is very slow for even Hoster 3.321a. If you are trying to run 4.0x, I'm surprised it will run.

If you are running Hoster 4.00 or 4.01 and want to move it to another computer, connect the computer on line, run the Hoster INSTALLATION program, and select to REMOVE it. It will communicate to the MTU.com site database and register when it is removed. You are then free to move the install to a new computer... without MTU interaction. :c

If you are running 3.321a or prior, please upgrade to 4.01, then move it as above. Otherwise, you have 2 computers you can install 3.321a or prior on, and we have to intervene to help free up a prior installation... why we added the new feature into Hoster 4.0x. :)

Admin is right that is a pretty slow processor to be running Hoster on, I would say most likely your USB ports are also 1.0 and not version 2.0 which is a much faster port. So yes I would remove the program from the external drive and install it on the C: drive. It really is never a good idea to run a program from an external drive. Store your data (KMA files) and files from any other programs you have on an external, but not the programs themselves.

Truly, I've not had any problems running hoster through the external til the 4.1... it's never run slow, unless I was running other programs in the background, which I learned my lesson on. Since my upgrade I've noticed that it runs a little behind and wondered if it had anything to do with it being on the external... but if I can move JUST the hoster program to the main, and keep the KMA files on the external maybe that might help with the lag?

(When I pulled up properties on My Computer.. the processor says 3400+. I am too broke to upgrade this particular thing right now.. is there a cheap way to do that?)
