Hoster program locks up
 

When a song counts down to 00:00 the program locks up and must be shut down and restarted. If I hit the stop button before it counts down it works ok but the I must delete the song. Any suggestions?

Be sure you have all the "Custom" updates from Microsoft and particularly you need to have IE7 and SP3 installed.

Bob me and you are having the same problem. And I have all the current updates. and it still locking up if the counter hits 0:00.

I have all the updates and still have the problem. I changed back to version 3.4 and it works fine.

Hoster locks up
 

I had this problem tonight and would have to do a cntrl alt delete to get out of Hoster 4.0 and then go to 3.4, where I found out that there was still lead out time left on the song. The song in 4.0 showed 00 but I actually had time left on the lead out on 3.4
This was the case on every occurance of the lock ups.

Hooster locks up
 

I have done all the updates including redownloading v4.01. The problem has gotten better but it still exists. I love the new features in the program but this is getting frustrating. I hope someone can come up with a hix to this!

I have tried everything I can think of to solve this problem. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

After upgrading to 4.01 the problems seems to be gone. Time will tell.

Dan! Did you do a complete uninstall and then redownload? And are you using the same computer for your DJ music and if so what program are you using for DJ? I've got 6 KJ friends who are using Hooster based on my recominddation and they are waiting for me to get the bugs worked out before the update. Bob

No i did not do an uninstall. I just did the 4.01 upgrade. I remembered that I had written down more of the songs that locked up the program. I will try them later today to make sure that they work properly. i'll make another post later today. I am using hoster to play my music files on off my hard drive and that works good for me. I do have a problem with my video file not playing on the dual screen though if someone can tell me what may cause this.

Which video format are you using... .wmv, .mpg, .avi... :?

When you say "dual screen" do you mean the new Show Display? Is it placed over on a second monitor?

We have discovered that some hardware will NOT play .mpg files on a second monitor. Works fine on the computer screen, but fails on the second monitor. Drove us batty finding this one! :r

Everyone... did upgrading to 4.01 fix your problems? If not, please post them here.

I started with 4.01 and had freeze ups at o:oo. I already had IE7 then I added sp3. Still having freeze ups sometimes when I hit play it goes to cue for a couple of minutes before it starts playing. Still having freeze ups. It still goes Down to 0:00 and freezes. Have to shut down.

Installing 4.01 did resolve the lock up problem with the songs, thanks.
The video file format is avi. that I was saying would not play on the second monitor, but plays well on the laptop. I'm almost positive that it showed on the 2nd monitor for a while when I first loaded 4.0 but can't swear to it. Anyway it doesn't now. I also posted about the "edit song" problem before I saw that you wanted the 4.01 problems posted here.

Possible solution
 

I was using WinAmp for my DJ music. Even with WinAmp not running Hooster still locked up when the song got to 0:00. After doing a complete uninstall of WinAmp the problem seems to have gone away. So far so good. I,ll let you know!

ok I downloaded Hoster 4.01, tried running it tonight but, locked up after about 4 songs.

I have found that it doesn't do it with every song, and it doesn't do it at 0:00, but at around 0:02 or 0:03.

I have a 1.7 something or other gb of ram also.

I did a show last nite. Three songs into the show the program locked again. I love all the features in 4.01, please someone find a fix to this problem.

Bob they are working on it and it is getting better. Several bugs were found and have been fixed.

Thanks for the info Dale. I am so happy with the rest of the program that I have been living with this problem rather than going back to v34. Many of my singers have commented how much the like the new screen. Keep up the good work.:)

4.01--I try to start show, click play- it goes to cue for 5 min+ It will eventually go into play mode and in a couple more minutes it will actually start to play. It will then lock up at 0:00. I click play for next song, 10 mins. later it starts playing. Same thing every time. I upgraded from 3.21 to 4.01 this past weekend. my computer is a Twinhead Laptop that I purchased from MTU about a year ago. -2.13 GHz - 992mb Ram - XP home - IE 7 - SP3. Should I reload 4.01? I am having to use my backup computer with 3.21 for shows now.
