Mark Song Feature
 

My mark song feature does not work. When I click on the button the window pops up and I can enter info and then I can close it but it does not record it. It quit around 3-20-08. I was using version 3.319 then and switched to 3.321a and it still does not work. Hoster is supposed to generate a file when needed but mine for some reason does not any more.

What operating system?
Can you not find the file or is it there but with no new entries?
If you have deleted the file last time you used it then you need to recreate a blank one in Notepad with the file name of MarkSong.txt and save it to C:\MTU\Hoster.

It was there but had no new entries. I read in the manual to delete the file when done and so I did that after it would not mark any more. The last time it marked was 3-20-08. I deleted it today to see if it would work again and it didn't. I will try making a new folder or file .txt and see if that works.

I don't know why it didn't mark for 3 months but the file is no longer in C:\programs\micro technology unlimited\hoster any more like it use to be. That is where the old file was that didn't update. I found the new file in C:\MTU\Hoster but it only had my test mark songs in it to see where the file was from today. So, I am not sure where the other mark song entries are since 3-20-08.
At least it is working now.

I think in 3.318 & 19 it was moved to the documents and settings/MTU/Hoster location along with several other things to try and get around some Vista problems. (and when that didn't work) it was moved to C:/MTU/Hoster. If you do a computer wide search for marksong.txt you'll probably find those other entries.

Marksong problem as well...
 

I have never had any problems with the 'marksong' button before but I have just gone in to fix a couple of files I had marked & there is nothing there. I ran another song to test it just now & even though there is a 'marksong.txt' document there is definately nothing in it. How do I fix it?? I am running 3.320. :?

Upgrade? It has been too long and I don't remember if this was a problem with this version or not. You can still get and download version 3.321 (next release) or you pay and upgrade to 4.09 that I know it works in.
