Did you reload the laptop fresh or get it to restore? If you loaded it fresh then there should be nothing to cause it to crash again if you install SP3. You will be better off.

had to reload it fresh..couldn't get it to restore.there should have been nothing to caused the crashed since the hhd was pretty new and there was nothing in it other than hoster, itunes and my virtual dj programs.. it was the cloned drive and i was working on downloading songs that i bought from itunes, when i got that auto update msg.

Could have been something in the cloning that caused it. I would go ahead and update it to SP3 at this point. 99% of that update is security fixes.

Are the ITunes files you are working on Audio or Karaoke files?

I loaded SP3 on my Dell Inspiron E1505, and have yet to experience any problems. (To include Hoster). Unfortunately some programs are having problems with the new security Updates, like McAfee AntivVirus 8, so make sure you go over the software you have installed and check it against Microsoft or the software manufacturer.

I use Symantec Anti Virus V10 anyway.

I just heard about the problem with McAfee.

Make sure you also have the A17 BIOS update for your laptop. McAfee is also addressing the SP3 issue. So go to their website for possible updates.

thats fine, but Mcafee will post an upgrade for the software and not just a virus definition update...Check with the cable company's security website and see if they might have something posted.

I run hoster 3.321a in XP SP3 in a PC and Vista Ultimate in Laptop, all updates full, and no problems. In a show for 8 hours continous, freeze hoster only 1 time or never.
Hoster work fine in Vista and XP SP3....:)

Split these out of the "Hoster 4.00" thread. Stay on topic within a Thread please gentlepersons. Others posted in the Topic won't receive new notifications from the Forum on that Thread unless they visit for EVERY post that is made! :e :)
