Make sure that the CD or DVD rom drive is displaying in the Hoster software under Tools>CD/DVD Drives Defaults. If it is not listed as Kar Read>yes and Reader>Show, the click on the Detect again.

If for some reason the CD/DVD Drives Defaults is greyed out, It could be the CD DVD driver may need to be checked on your computer.

What kind of model of computer and drive do you have? Hoster's software driver for CD DVD readers, works very well on almost every CD\DVD reader.

good luck

Ed, sorry it didn't work out of the box on your computer.

Try importing (Import Tracks > Import CD Tracks command) and see if that works. If not, as Capnvic above said, make sure your drive can handle CDG format discs. The "Detect Again" button requires you to insert a CDG disc, and then it does a battery of tests to see what the drive can do with CDG data.

If that fails, the next thing to try is find your drive manufacturer, download the drivers for the burner and install them. If you need help, let us know, but either way you wll need to tell us what your drive is. the Hoster CD/DVD Drive Defaults dialog should show you the drive and firmware version so post that in your next post, if you still need help.
