Error creating KMA file

I am trying to download a soundchoice disc to my external hard drive. The program copies song but shows error creating KMA file. I found someone who had a similar problem. The solution they were given was to make sure they had selected thier correct drive, which I have done but the problem still exist.

is your computer up to date with windows custom updates?

Exactly what message are you getting when you get the error?

Dufgolfer May 31st, 2008 04:41 PM

I have all updates including xpsp3. The track imports then writes KMA file. When it looks like it is done it says error writing KMA file in a box.

I can add all the tracks in the play list but for some reason i cannot download it.

I'm confused. What exactly are you trying to do that is erroring out? Are you importing the songs into Hoster from the main screen or from the "Import from CD" dialog?

I bought a new disc. I am trying to import the disc onto my external hard drive in the hoster program "import cd tracks".

Beavis June 1st, 2008 09:48 AM

sounds like somethings wrong with your cd drive. did you update the firmware on it ? not software.

ddouglass June 1st, 2008 10:07 AM

Try importing the disc to your internal drive to C:\MTU\KMA files to see if it is something with the external drive. If that works then there is something not right with your connection to the external or it may be trying to save to a bad sector or import folder isn't correct (like wrong drive letter, misspelled location, etc.)

I updated the firmware and tried again. Now I get IO error Info II failed with error 0x45d. Wont even read the disc now. Cd drive not ready. It shows up in my computer. I rebootedf the putrer again but still get the same message. What is going on?

Beavis June 1st, 2008 10:35 AM

what is the drive brand and model ? how old is it ?

Dufgolfer June 1st, 2008 10:39 AM

Plextor PX760A. I bought from MTU with my laptop in May 2006.

why dont you tell every one what you did to fix it so if they have the same problem they can fix it.

Hoster 3.321. Sound Choice Spotlight #8558. I bought #8558 & 8559. I downloaded # 8559 but #8558 is the problem. It is not blocked like some Sound Choice discs are.
