When adding to Playlist, Press "Audio"

The current version will only temporarily import audio music and play it. It can't add it to the database. The next version will be able to keep it in the database.

You can import as a cdg, you'll get a black screen while playing but it will work or you can do the temporary import thing using the cdg tab on the playlist, just as you would for a singer who brought their own disk - you still get a black screen from this option. Or you can rip them to mp3 or wma and use the audio tab on the playlist - with this option you get no black screen, you'll continue to see the desktop image.

If you want it permanent, simply use your Media Player that came with the PC and rip the tracks wma or mp3 format to your hard drive. After you can access it through hoster. If all you want to is play a cd, just open it with the media player. Hoster will do it also as described above.

Dale I load non karaoke disc into my database permanently all the time, just as i do the karaoke disc. I type in the titles using NK (non karaoke) before the titlle so they will not be mixed with other karaoke titles, otherwise having a listing basically of their own in one lplace, always starting with NK. It is easily kept separate and i keep a permanent playlist. Click search, type NK and all the non karaoke music will come up, or type NK Together Again, and that song will come up. Very easy to use.
I would like to see Hoster add a separate function to load non karaoke disc.

When you add a Non-Karaoke tack to your database and play it from the Playlist, what does it say in the "Type" area of the playlist?

I believe MTU plans on making it so we can add a CD track (non-karaoke) to our database giving it it's own "type" classification. We will have the option to NOT have them appear in the songbooks if we choose.

Good stuff on the horizon!

It says the same as the kma file-"cdcdg". Been doing this for years now. When i load the database with non karaoke songs, i type "nktogether again", for example. This keeps all the NK (non karaoke) music together so if you need to, you can delete it easily from your song book, but keep the pages for you own use. For search, type NK and all the nk music comes up. Works great, eliminates the need for Windows Media or other player.
