Microstudio doesn't recognize Plextor PX-716AL slot feed drive

I have Portable PC just purchased from MTU in April with Hoster installed
It has a Plextor PX-716A 1.04
I just installed Microstudio 2.609 and it will not recognise the Plextor drive

The Plextor 716 became supported with Microstudio 2.610.

You should be able to use your 2.609 download link to receive 2.611 , which is the current version.

Take care,

George

I have Microstudio V. 2.6.1.1
I have a Plextor PX-716-AL
The software does NOT recognize the drive.
Don't just tell people that the software recognizes drives when it doesn't.
I bought the drive because MTU's website lists this drive as being supported.
Needles to say, I am very disappointed, since I am no longer able to burn CDGs unless I buy an OLD Plextor to replace the old Plextor 712 that gave up the ghost. (Or was killed by MTU; hard to say which occurred) :m

The Plextor 716 AL is a brand new "slot load" versus "tray" drive that is not yet supported. This is the newest version of the 716 models, and will not be supported until Microstudio 2.611, which is not known when it will be released.

Software does not and can not kill DVD drives. :f

Plextor 716Al

I also bought a 716AL burner, if I am going to buy another burner I want to get a 716 so could you tell me which of the 716 series are currently supported or give me a rough estimate as to how long I will have to wait for an upgrade that will support my drive? Much appreciated.

Kevin

Hoster 3.120 Now SUPPORTS this 716AL drive. I have one here in House now and it is working. The next version of Microstudio will support this also. I will be trying to get an update for Microstudio 2.611, that will support this.

If you are using Hoster, then it is working now. Just go to your Store Account and download this new version. Here is the FAQ on how to get into your Store Account: http://www.mtu.com/support/faq/faq-website.htm

Thanks Bryan, I guess it would have been helpful if I specified that I was using Microstudio. That's great news that support is on the way. I don't want to bother you but just to clarify, is the 716SA already supported or will it be in the same update? I am also looking at the 740A-SW.

Thanks again
Kevin

All of the 716 drives including the SA are already supported in 2.611 except the 716AL model. I just built the new Microstudio with this, and the drive is now working on my system.

The 740 drive will NOT do CD+G. It does not support it, I have one and it will not work. The drive was made by BENQ and Marketed by Plextor, instead of Plextor making the drive. So this drive won't work until Version 3.x of Microstudio is done, which could be some time.

The Microstudio 2.612 should be out next week.

Litesnsirens,
Send me and email at support at mtu.com stating Beta for Microstudio 2.612 and I will give you a version that will work on your AL model drive.

This should be good to go, but will release next week once we get some testing in on it.
