Cannot Get Microstudio to run on my net book
 

I am a long time (maybe 10 years?) user of Microstudio and have always loved it!

I have downloaded MS423 on my Lenovo netbook but I cannot get it to run. It seems to install fine, and when I click on the shortcut, the .exe file, or try to run it from "run." I say yes for permissin to run, and it just stops. I have Windows 7 and no CD Rom drive (but I have a portable USB drive I will use for this computer for my music). Ms runs fine on my desk computer, but I can't get the netbook to work. The reason for putting it on the netbook (when it has no disc drive) is because I am taking that home in April (via plane), so we can sing songs with my mom (and she doesn't have to go to a karaoke bar).

I did not find this problem in the forums (please let me know if it has been addressed and I missed it.

I am thinking I am missing something. I turned off autoplay (I do not have an autorun). Suggestions please.

Try doing the following steps from this link:

These steps are for Hoster but Microstudio uses a lot of the same code used in Hoster. Also Windows 7 and previously Vista tries to control what you can use on the computer and these steps will help overcome that.

Before you try to open it the next time plug in the external drive so Microstudio can go through the set-up for that CD drive. This could be part of why it won't open.

i have a netbook, asus XP (eee series) i havent done anything to it, except for the necessary changes and regular updates ( custom ) and i have no problem running MS,and i strictly use this for my djing i just installed a virtual dj ( hercules rmx dj console ) and still no problem..runs like a charm..
