2nd Monitor no lyrics

I have a second monitor connected to my laptop via HDMI configured in extended view. If I slide the lyrics screen over to that 2nd monitor, the marquee shows fine and the MTU logo shows up, however when I start a song the lyrics do not show, the screen is just black (Marquee is still there). If I move the screen back to my laptop display, everything works fine. Of course, I want to have the lyrics on the 2nd monitor.

My laptop has a 4k screen (3480x2160) and the 2nd monitor is (wide/curved) (2560x1080) - I\\\'m thinking that this is some other kind of problem - not specifically a video issue...

One other note: If I slide the program onto the 2nd monitor then the lyrics show.... (but, I want the program on monitor#1 and the lyrics on the large monitor#2) Interestingly, if I play a song, then slide the program window back onto the laptop screen it will continue to show the lyrics... but as soon as I go to the next song the lyrics window disappears altogether! I have to restart the program to get it back.

What am I missing here?

Have you tried lowering your laptops screen resolution to match the external monitors resolution ?

What format are your karaoke files ? Example mp3+g, kma, mp4 etc.

Re: 2nd Monitor no lyrics

Lowering my laptop\'s screen resolution is a non-starter since it\'s a special 4k display - lower resolutions are possible but not the exact same one as my 2nd monitor. Still, for the sake of making every effort, I tried several different display resolution combinations - none of them worked. The problem remained exactly the same regardless of the display resolution.

My Karaoke files are mostly MP4. I tried different types all with the same result.

Interestingly, if I set the displays to duplicate, everything is tickety-boo on both screens. If I select Extend... when then, we\'re right back to square one.

Note that if I use a wireless display (eg, Roku) to an HD TV it does exactly the same thing. (duplicate displays, it works; extend displays blacked out lyrics box)

Also my laptop comes equipped with two video (graphics) interfaces; Intel\'s IRIS XE and NVIDIA\'s GEForce MX450. I can switch between them on the fly, however it doesn\'t seem to matter which one I select, it\'s the same problem.

This is a real show-stopper for me.

Here\'s an interesting twist:

I tried several different monitors they all work the same.

I accidentally found that if I leave just a tiny edge (1%) of the video/lyrics screen on the main screen and the rest (99%) on the 2nd monitor, it works. It stops instantly if I move it completely onto the 2nd monitor. There has to be a clue there.

In the past this problem was resolved by installing an updated video driver from nvidea or intells own sites.
I have no exsperience with 4k so sorry to say am not of much help.

Clutching at straws but in all the above statements you say when you slide the the 2nd monitor over.
Have you tried just just double clicking on the 2nd display on your laptop in extended mode which would normally send it over to the 2nd moniter full screen ?
One other thing might be worth a try, as we are talking about very high resolutions here, are you using a high quality HDMI cable ?
