SongBook Printing Book ID in Bold Print

Is there a way to print the SongBook with the Book ID printed in bold like the title is? I\'m not a Pro, so this is not that big a deal for me, except it would be great if the Book ID would print in bold, so people could read it better.

I also noticed that when I print the SongBook by Artist, the Titles of the songs and the Book IDs are printed in smaller print than in a SongBook by Title. Again it would be great to print the IDs in bold.

Once again, Hoster is a great program even it one is not a Pro and only uses the program for home and neighbor enjoyment. So much better than the old shove the CD+G into the player.

Thanks,
Wes

Which version of word do you have ?
This is fairly easy in Word 2003 although I find it can only cope with about 100 pages maximum in that so you need to split your songbook.rtf file into blocks of 100 pages or less.

The latest version Word 2016 seems to keep hanging up on my computer doing this and takes ages to process and seems best to reduce to about 40 pages at a time.
Let us know which version of Windows you have and Ill try to explain how to do it.

I now always compile mine in Microsoft Access, it takes a bit of time setting it up but once you have the template set its just a matter of keep saving the songbook file in csv format and opening with the same template.

Heres an example of mine online:

My paper copy just has the background colour removed.

If you have Access let me know which version and Ill try and explain how to set it up in that.

Re: SongBook Printing Book ID in Bold Print

Roy,

Thanks for the response. I have Word 2002 and Word 2010 Non-Commerical Use. I also have Access 97 on an XP Computer, but it\'s missing a start-up file.

Not being a Pro, I have only 43 pages in my SongBook by Artist as compared to your 175. So, it\'s not that big of a problem for me, but if it\'s not that difficult to bold the ID, I would try.

Thanks again,

Wes

I will try to knock up a video using my Word 2003 version, that part may not have changed much to your 2002 version, 43 pages should be simple enough. Do you want 1 or 2 columns per page ?

Roy,

Don\'t put yourself out trying to help me, you\'ve already in the past been a great help to me and to others. If it\'s not too much trouble for you, I use two columns. :)If I go to one it will double my pages.

Thanks,

Wes

Re: SongBook Printing Book ID in Bold Print

Roy,

Thanks for the wonderful video. I was able to do what I wanted to do based on your guidance. I now have the IDs in BOLD and the font is increased for the titles on the songbook by Artists.

I tried to do the same thing with by Titles, however it also makes the artist BOLD. I think with the larger font the Title songbook is fine the way it is, rather than making the entire text BOLD.

I used the Word 2002 and it works just like you said.

I know you\'re retired just like I am, however you put lots efforts into helping me and others, so thanks, thanks and more thanks.

Ive done another video showing a different method for creating Bold book ID with songs by Title order.

It edits the songbook.rtf file rather than using word.

Here is the link to that video:

Roy,:)

Are there no limits to your knowledge and talents? What a wonderful video, thanks again. While I haven\'t tried it, I\'m sure it will work as well as your other BOLD video.

I noticed you have updated to the new Hoster version 5.50.02, so is it worth upgrading since I\'m not in the business, and I only use it for fun?

Once again, thanks for your wonderful help,

Wes

Re: SongBook Printing Book ID in Bold Print

At this moment in time 5.50.02 is a beta testing version but will be released very soon. 5.50.01 is the current release version.

As to weather its worth you updating is hard to say, I should view all the changes here: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm#Upgrades

Although you wont see 5.50.02 there till it is released,

5.50.01, one of the things added was ability to purchase songs and have them auto index into Hoster.

Im on a roll at the moment :) I just created another video showing editing the Artist songbook to bold Book Id by editing the Songbook.rtf file rather than in word, this way does not get any page limitations and also leaves the dotted line as normal.

Roy,:)

Thanks to you my SongBooks both by Artist and by Title now have bold Book IDs.

Thanks for all your efforts. It\\\'s also great that the information is also available to anyone who needs it.

I just chanced upon your latest news about the new Hoster version printing all IDs in bold. It sure would have saved some time, but your help was there when I needed it.

Wes
