external_IO_with_ME5.5_and XP

I just bought a new PC system running under windows XP-pro.
I installed my krystal board which is connected to a external 2 channel analog and digital interface.
I installed ME5.5.
It runs fine but I cant actvivate my external IO!
In the setup/test_tool I can choose it but after that in the ME5.5 only krystal is active as IO. External is grayed out.
Does somebody had the same problems and a idea to manage it?
Does someboy use external IO under XP-pro and ME5.5?

Thanks for help
Armin

....sure like to see the answer on this one

....As I'm still playing with configurations and have not yet set up an MTU/XP system, I'd sure like to know if this is an issue, as well.

The new file that fixed this is now the one that is sent out, when the order is placed on the website. This is also the file you will download if you already own Microeditor and have your link to download the file from.

Bryan,

I'm having this same issue with my computer. I can't play normal media files on my computer because they won't go through the Krystal card, and the option to choose another sound card is grayed out.

How can I make the Krystal card the primary sound card for all audio media files, such as MP3s in Windows Media Player or Winamp? I get error messages whenever I try to play files through those programs.

I'm running ME5.5 on a P4 with the Krystal DSP 1200 card version D.

Thanks,
Laura:?

Laura,
You can't use the Krystal as the Audio card under XP, this was only available under Windows 98 SE or ME.

I am sorry, this was not able to be done with Krystal under XP, due to the driver incompatibility.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the reply. I guess I misunderstood from the previous MTUSupport post that there was a downloadable file to fix this.

Any recommendations?

Laura

So maybe I'm confused. I own Microeditor but never received a link to download this. Do I need to pay for it, or what? I just want to fix this if it's fixable. Help...

Laura
Do you have the version 5.5 and an external IO Box ?

This is to be a fix for just that problem.

UPDATE !!

Well, Brian, now it lets me choose exteral IO but does not allow me to choose a 4 track project, only a 2 track project. Any ideas?

Is 4 track external IO supported in 5.5?

I installed it choosing a krsytal with 4 chanel IO during ME 5.5 setup, but now I need to record 4 tracks at once.

Any ideas?

Bill

Laura--- Krystal card under XP doesn't work as a windows type sound card.
In fact to use the directX function under 5.5, you need a second sound card installed in your computer. What exactly are you trying to do?

If you want to discuss this further with me you can email me at BillOdom@wintrak.com.
