kma to Wav + cdg problem

Hi,

there are some files that just won't convert to a wav. I need to convert SC1026-7.kma (Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O Mine) or SC7578-14 (Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O Mine) to a wave +cdg. Have the gunners got some safety on it or something?

If I can send you the file can you try to convert for me or find out what the problem is, or if you have this file see if you can convert it without a problem.

Thanks

Stef

If you were able to import it into Hoster (make it a KMA file) then there is no security or protection on the file.
What version are you using?

Hi, I am using 1.20 songvertor and Hoster 4.08

There are a few more files that won't convert. Most of my led zepps which are also SC's

I am suddenly finding I can't convert any KMA file to any other format and I am not sure why. Were your KMA files imported directly from the CDG discs or did you import them from the hard drive in another format?

My kma files were imported from a zip file. I also tried to convert a zip file (before importing to Hoster kma) to wave +cdg but had the same problem. There are quiet a few that won't convert to wave.

Try unzipping a couple and then convert the MP3+G file to WAV+G. When Hoster imports a ZIP file there are two ways that it was done. In previous versions it was imported by wrapping a KMA header around the file as it was copied to the new location. In other words the file was still a zip file on the inside.
The current versions import a ZIP file by unzipping it and importing the MP3 (no additional compression) as is along with the CDG file all into one file with the KMA header.

If the KMA file you are trying to convert is a ZIP file in the KMA file then Microstudio may have problems getting through all the layers of file to extract the audio file.

Hi Dale,
Tried that (unzipping first). No luck. I also tried to convert the mp3 to a wma with no luck.

We just released version 1.22 that does fix some crash issues with converting .kma files to MP3+G. They were mainly under Windows Vista and Windows 7 that I had found the problem with.

You can download it from here.
