CD+G Drive Compatability

I would like to know if there are any drives besides Plextor that will work with Microstudio. I purchased the BenQ DW1650 because the specs showed that it will play CD+G's. Microstudio will not recognize it. My Plextor is having probems and they are just too darn expensive to replace. They are not as good as they used to be. I would also like to purchase a LightScribe model soon but, I'm afraid it will not work. Could you please list all compatable drives besides Plextor or am I stuck with shelling out the big bucks?:f

MTU provides a list

As you start clicking links to find out about the cdg drives that MTU sells, there is a box called "Important Notes" (or something like that) and in that box, there is a link to the kind of list you want.

Currently the only drives that work are the Plextor drives. The only models that will work with Microstudio are Plextor PX-716 models, Plextor PX-760 models, and the Plextor PX-755 Model should work.

The Plextor PX-740 and 750 models will not work with Microstudio.

Re: CD+G Drive Compatability

What about the Optiarc burners that MTU sold? I still have one.It would be a poor deal if one must change verified CG+G burners every time one upgrades MTU software. :g

Sea Otter,
You are replying to a 6 year old post, things have moved on a bit since then, most drives will now work with the newer software.
MTU guarantee their drives to work and they are no longer Plextor.
As this thread is out of date I will close it.
