Upgrade to 2.009 from 2.008

I've been a happy user of Keyrite for several years, starting with 1.302 and later upgrading to 2.008. On the homepage I read with interest the latest release of 2.009. The Keyrite Features Page (dated 01/18/06) indicates..

Keyrite 2.009 Upgrade from all prior versions $19.95

I took the "from all prior versions" literally. I purchased the upgrade and am now confused. I didn't get 2.009. The download gave me 2.008 again.

I've subsequent discovered that 2.009 is actually a free upgrade to those who already have 2.008 (Keyrite Versions Page dated 01/18/06). I've checked my account history and it indeed documents my original upgrade purchase to 2.008.

Although the features page is misleading in it's reference "from all prior versions" I really don't mind the unnecessary charge for $19.95, the software has always been a bargain. But what I would like is 2.009. ;-)

I was an early poster regarding the "pop" problem when using the + key. I see that 2.009 fixes that problem so I am eager to use the new version.

What did I miss? I cannot find it.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I dont think the 2.009 has been released yet.......

bernie January 19th, 2006 08:45 PM

gdons,

Looks like I may have caught the website in transition. On the Home Page, Keyrite is listed at 2.008. However, if one clicks on the "Details" button, Keyrite is listed at 2.009.

I'm sure it will be all sorted out shortly, but right now it's a bit confusing.

And when it is sorted out, the moderator may want to delete this thread because weeks or months from now it won't even make sense to a first time reader. ;-)

I also had upgraded to Keyrite 2.008 in Jan. 2005 and now the ver. 2.009 is out and I am supose to be able to upgrade for free from the 2.008. It sends me to my account and I have no Upgrade available there. :f

Shane,

I too am confused. I thought I was buying 2.009 last month but ended up paying for yet another "Home Upgrade to Pro". What I got was what I already had, 2.008.

And, like you, if I go to my Account Store there's only the download link to 2.008.

I cannot figure out how we get 2.009. :?

Thanks Doug,

I know you must be busy but it's been a couple of weeks now and the link still hasn't been fixed. I've also called and left phone messages.

Can this please be fixed?

Does the full 3.30 Hoster 199 dollar version have the keyrite 2.008 or the 2.009 built right in? Or another version?

bryant March 1st, 2006 01:51 PM

Oh, and if Hoster contains only 2.008 built in, how would we incorporate keyrite version 2.009 into it?

2.009.

Only changes between 2.008 and 2.009 is the Installation program was upgraded, and the "-1" key parameters were tweaked to make it sound better.

Hoster uses the core subroutine that Keyrite uses, but does on-the-fly changing only, not modifying a file on the hard drive.

Not Seeing a Free Upgrade Link

I'm at the store. There is no link for a Free upgrade to 2009. Do I click on the upgrade for 19.95 link?

I was wrong. There are a total of 10 upgrades between 2.008 and 2.009. You can see them at this page.

Yes, 2.009 is available through the upgrade.

Everyone...

We released Keyrite 2.010 today. It is now shipping with new Keyrite orders. It will be made available as a free upgrade to those that should or do have 2.009.

Also today, we discovered that links that should have been upgraded to 2.009 by our prior web master, were not. These will be done as fast as we can, but don't expect it before the end of next week... if all goes smoothly with the transition.

We are in the process of shifting our MTU.com web site to a new web master. Thus, we are in "limbo" and can't upgrade your Keyrite Pro links. It requires running an SQL script to update the database download links with the new download code. :r

Will the 2.009 keyrite upgrade to 2.010 be free to thoses that have recently purchased 3.301 that has 2.009 included in that?

No and Yes. :c The changes in Keyrite 2.010 did not affect the core key changer code used in Hoster, so no change was made to Hoster.

We are in the process of moving who controls our web server. Thus, we are in a period of "no changes" that prevent us from upgrading the download links to deliver Keyrite 2.010 to those who have 2.009.

However, we also released Hoster 3.303 (available for new sales) and can't get your download links upgraded yet. 3.303 is a free upgrade to anyone with 3.300 or higher.

It will probably be some time next week before we can get these links upgraded. Please be patient.
