Read the following article from an Atlanta news paper. I think we are going backwards in time to the 19th century!:e :e

I would expect that of Texas, perhaps one of the last places in America that can be rightly called "land of the free, home of the brave".

Unfortunately in the Peoples State of Washington, the voters ask to have their rights limited and the government is just to happy to comply.
The smoking ban here in Washington has caused a lot of bars in the Spokane area to under, and most of the others are suffering a lack of business as well.
We've now got a new law to conted with. All bars in this state have to install sprinkler systems by Nov 1 of this year. Nobody is grandfathered in. The one bar I do in Washington is looking at an estimated $50,000 to install them. The owner has pretty much decided that with business patheticly slow as it is that she'll never recoup her costs, so she's probably going to bag it at that point.

oh gee, every commercial building in Maine has had that law enforced for the last 25 years: protect the public and get a sprinkler system installed. that is exactly why Maine is so economically depressed: TOO many laws and mot enough money to go around. Consider yourselves safe.

Please keep in mind that sprinkler systems protect people at the expense of the bar owner.

If you were the principal of a school system and could not tell the parents of the kids that attended that school that they were safe, would YOU send your kids there.

Remember, that same bar owner spends much money on life insurance so he can get HIS money back in case of a catastrophe, but nothing on your life insurnce, and cannot EVEN guarantee yor safety while visiting his establishment?

Are they making the terms harder or watering them down?
