SCDG Converter software

I want to Plug my Scdg's onto my hoster software, anyone have the best way to go about this? software, opinions Etc? Thanks Rex

Use CDGFix to convert them to either MP3+G (Best) or MP#+G Zip. Then thay can be added. Unfortunately though you will have to put them in folders of 99 tracks and change the track numbers on those 100 or higher to 1 thru 99 in each folder. You will have to use custom instead of being able to use the brand name and diskid on them.
Or you can wait for 4.1 which I have been promised it will be in it.

Different possibility

I use software I got from KJAMP.com I don't have any of the disadvantages mentioned. It was tricky getting used to, but if the names of the tracks amd artists are complete on the scdg then you can get the files created with names. It looks like they will download a trial version

Did you place all the SCDG files in one folder and then import them into hoster? I thought that there was a limitation with hoster as to the number of songs that can be imported from one source. Has to do with the numbering.

I have the KJAMP software and it works real well, I just want to import two of my SCDG's into Hoster...:s:?

Mea Culpa on Track Numbering

I was under the impression that the track numbering trickiness was due to the CDGFix software. I am ignorant as to Hoster accepting converted files as I do not use Hoster. Please pardon any misinformation that I might have passed along. :s

CDGFix numbers the tracks correctly according to the disc. It is Hoster that will only allow 99 tracks per BookID.

Hi ddouglass

Would you please explain what numbering scheme that you used to resolve the 99 file limitation in Hoster.

What happens to 100, 200, 300 and so on?

Appreciate some help Thx Joe......

I haven't imported my two yet. I am waiting for MTU to fix it so it will roll-over using multiple BbookIDs for one DiskID. That is what MTU is going to set-up so we can import them with the correct Brand and DiskID instead of using the Custom Assembly.
I have experimented with this though and that is why I know that it will work.

Thx for your replay

I did import three scdg disc. MT-1, NT-2, NT-3 it was a real challenge
with the two digit limitation in Hoster for track numbers.

I have four more to import but decided to wait until this feature is implemented. (was to mush work)

I also found that the Track number will not work if the track is preceded with a zero in front of it., Like 01, 02, ect.

Some of my Disc. have 1,239 tracks so the Track column would have to be able to hold that amount of digits. Trk 1 = 0001 Trk 2 = 0002 and so on.

This way it would make sense and match the book listing under one disc.

Is this what is planed?

Joe...

No, that was proposed but would require changing the Header arrangement to get the extra digits in it, so this was vetoed. They are going to allow BookId to roll to next number after 99 have been entered, so if you start one at say bookid 564, then when the first 99 tracks have been imported, it continues with bookid 565 for the next 99 and so on.

How would you enter track 100, 200, 1000, 1100, 1200 est.?

Thx Joe.....

Yyou don't it would renumber to tracks 1-99 again. I know that they were checking to see if a track zero (0) would be possible, so that would keep the numbers semi straight.
I am afraid this is going to make your diskid use a bit difficult.

Hi ddouglass

No question that's why I stopped importing my other scdg disc. waiting on a fix if possible?

Any Idea when MTU is going to incorporate the numbering feature for this?

I was look for inspiration here from other Hosts!!!!
(shouldn't the rest of this be in the Help Forum:e

Lonman October 6th, 2008 07:31 PM

Well since the OP is just asking how to convert his files to run in his 'hosting' program not even a Hoster user, it really shouldn't go in any MTU help topics. The topic did get sidetracked, although relating to the same thing, when another asked about converting the same files into an MTU product. So at that point it could be moved to a help topic? :r

Some people do not understand the concept of the forums. Yes it should have been in the Hoster Help forum, but since none of us have the capability to move it, then it is here.

Skybird74 October 6th, 2008 08:41 PM

Dale, you're right about not being able to move it. Guess I'm just starting to lose patience. I've spent countless hours on this Forum the past few months hoping to learn, as well as trying to help others along the way. However, I also think much time is being wasted having to read through too many complaints, arguing & questions that are answered by quoting directly from the Manual (why not just tell them where to find it in the Manual?). More to the point, since 4.0 has come out, this entire Forum has gotten "out of hand"!!!!!!!!

This may not be the right place to vent either, but then maybe this could also be under the heading of "....... Wisdom"

You are absolutely correct, I should have been aware that this is not the place to be asking the questions. My apologies.
