Px-716a

Ok, I just recieved my New hoster laptop with the new external drive. (PX-716A) Should this drive not also work with Microstudio? It doesn't seem to.

Hi Kelly,

What version of Microstudio are you running?

The Plextor 716's became supported with Microstudio 2.610, except for the Plextor 716AL slot feed, which became supported with Microstudio 2.612.

Take care,

George

Hey George,

I'm using 2.612. It works fine on my laptop. Not working on my Desktop unit. (also 2.612) Just had it in the shop yesterday. HD had to be redone. I must have a setting somewhere that's not set right. So,...drive appears to be okay. Problem now lies in my desktop pc.

Thanks,
Kelly

Make sure that you have all of the Windows Updates and also the latest drivers for your Motherboard for that Desktop system.

This is probably where your problem lies.

Thanks Bryan,

I'll try it.

Okay, downloaded all new updates and drivers. Still no go. I get no music; no graphics; and only a clicking noise. I don't think it's due to updates. I haven't put my new hoster laptop in service yet. The drive works great with my old hoster laptop. And I don't even have Windows sp2 pack on there. It will play cgds I have stored on my computer but not from disc.

Still having problems with the PX-716A USB that came with my hoster laptop. If I am reading everything on MTU correctly, Microstudio only works with the 716A INTERNAL. It doesn't show the USB version. Am I correct?

Okay, finally. Still not sure what I did. But all is fine. :)
