Vista problems with 4.01

I just got Hoster installed and running flawless in Vista Ultimate. Microstudio installed fine also, yet when I click on the icon to launch it I get the dialog message that Microstudio has stopped working. This appears to be a Vista dialog popping up with the message.

Any ideas? I have uninstalled and reinstalled microstudio and get the same thing.

I have UAC turned off on my vista account and I tried running it as an administrator also. I even tried launching it from its directory using the exe. I tried compatibility mode also.

I really don't know what to do next.

Use this link and download all available up dates. Use Custom, not Express, as Express does not contain all the necessary upgrades.

Be sure to get .NET FRAMEWORK The newer Microstudio requires it.

Thanks George.

I already got all of the Vista updates. The only thing showing for updates are the packs for different languages.

Will Microstudio open directly from the .exe file?

Assuming you saved it in the default folder, open MY COMPUTER, double click LOCAL DISC C: , PROGRAM FILES, MICRO TECHNOLOGY UNLIMITED, MICROSTUDIO (the folder), MICROSTUDIO.EXE

If the program opens, close it and right click on the .exe file and click SEND TO DESKTOP to create a new shortcut.

If that shortcut opens the file from the desktop, just delete the old shortcut.

If that doesn't work, on the off beat chance you may have gotten a corrupted download, you might try downloading the file again, and start fresh.

Thanks again George. I have tried all that you have said.

I believe you best submit a support ticket on this one.

Sorry I couldn't help.
