Hoster wont open / runtime error

I noticed the other day that about 130 songs were not showing in Hoster that were in my database. I did rebuild database and I stopped it in the middle of the process because it was taking so long. From that day Hoster will not open. This is the error message: (Runtime error). This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact applications support team for more information. I have reinstalled it (Hoster) multiple times to no avail. I have done chkdsk also. I have a Lenovo IdeaPad with windows 8.1, 1T hard drive, 8G ram, using Hoster 5.50.04. Hoster starts to open and immediately the message comes up. Also, I cant figure out how to remove all those back slashes. Sorry!

Re: Hoster wont open

Try right clicking on the Hoster Icon and select run as administrator. Let us know if that works. The slashes are a problem with the site and has been for awhile. At this point it doesn\\\'t look like it\\\'s going to be fixed.:?

Re: Hoster wont open

If WaltR suggestion dose not work try this:

open the Hoster data folder, if you did not alter the default destination for this it should be in:
C:\\ProgramData\\mtu.com\\Hoster, this is normally in a hidden folder but typing the address ( using single backslashes not 2 as shown) in the file explorer should find it.

Once in there find the Songs.mdb and delete it.
Make sure Hoster is not running while doing this.

Then restart Hoster and if it doesnt auto rebuild the database then go into Tools/Songs Database/Rebuild Database.

Hopefully that will get you going, let it complete.
