Recorded Center-Penned ???

I have been reading your forum with much interest, the purpose is to check out what Vogone can and cannot do before buying Vogone for trial on some of my favorite songs.

It seems that the PRIMARY KEY SUCCESS FACTOR to devocalizing using Vogone is to have the original song (in wav format) recorded center-penned. [Of course, experience in using Vogone is another major factor, I would presume].

A. Can anyone explain to me in plain language what "RECORDED CENTER-PENNED" means ?

B. How can I find out whether or not a song is 'recorded center-penned' without using Vogone ? [Please tell me what software tools to use, what to look for, etc.]

Just to let you know, I have tried GoldWave to devocalize some songs. Some done, but for the others the resultant volume of the devocalized songs is so low that it is just barely audible (even with the speakers for my computer which is a 110W Output Acoustic Authority that I have to cranked way up trying to listen what's left).

I have also tried some hardware (not LT-Sound - can't afford that big $!!) to devocalize other songs, I would say, some work perfectly, and some not at all (what's left is the bass, and one level up in the devocalization is a background 'ghost' singing at half of the original volume, which is unsatisfactory).

Appreciate your help before buying Vogone; thanks,
