cdg plays to screen from player but not from hard drive
 

:? CD player HP 9500
AMD 1000, 2000 pro-os, 256mgs RAM
I can play a cdg from my player but when I make a copy and play it from the hard drive the sound is distorted and no graphics

check to make sure you've imported the song as CDG, not WAV.

I copied as a cdg file and I get error messages when I try to make a copy

IF YOU'RE WILLING TO WASTE A CD, LET'S TRY SOMETHING STEP BY STEP.

MAKE SURE YOU'VE SELECTED READ/WRITE DRIVE(USUALLY THE SAME WHERE CDG IS THE FORMAT)

1-PUT YOUR CDG IN THE DRIVE AND OPEN MICROSTUDIO
2-CLICK CUSTOM ASSEMBLY
3-CLICK KARAOKE (note the drive/directory where it will save)
4-CLICK ADD TRACK FROM CD
5-CLICK #1
6-CLICK ON BLANK SPACE AND NAME THE SONG
7-CLICK OK
8-AFTER IMAGE IS SAVED TO HARD DRIVE CLICK
PLAY TAB
9-CLICK USE HARD DRIVE
10-CLICK ADD TRACK
11-FIND YOUR SONG AND DOUBLE CLICK ON IT TO OPEN IT
12-CLICK PLAY

IF IT PLAYS THEN

13-PUT BLANK CD IN BURNER
14-CLICK BACK ON CUSTOM ASSEMBLY
15-CLICK ADD TRACK FROM HARD DRIVE
16-FIND THE SONG AND OPEN IT
17-CLICK WRITE CD

THERE ARE NO MANUAL SAVINGS INVOLVED. MICROSTUDIO WILL AUTOMATICALLY COPY YOUR ORIGINAL AS A CDG AND WRITE IT TO A BLANK CDR DISC AS A CDG DISC

PLEASE POST YOUR RESULTS.

You might want to check the drive speed. at the top, click on to drives then speed selection, and set it there. hopefully it was sitting on1x.

IT ALSO OCCURRED TO ME THAT SINCE WE WERE JUST DOING ONE SONG AS A TEST YOU MAY HAVE DECIDED TO USE CDRW MEDIA. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SENSIBLE DECISION.CDRW'S HOWEVER DO NOT WRITE AT EVEN MEDIOCRE SPEEDS. I USE THEM WHEN I'M MAKING A CD OF MYSELF SINGING(EGO TRIP) BECAUSE I CAN KEEP ERASING UNTIL I GET IT RIGHT, THEN BURN TO A CDR.
YOU CAN EXPECT ANYTHING FROM IX TO 4X WITH CDRW'S.
MAYBE YOU DIDN'T USE ONE, HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING, BUT IF YOU DID, YOU MAY NOT HAVE A PROBLEM.

I used a CDR but I haven't had a chance to go back and check speeds. It also worked for multiple insertions but I am just copy to the hard drive at this point.
? Is there a good lap top with CDWriter that supports Mtu's software.

I can't answer that one. I'd hazard a guess that if worse came to worse and you couldn't locate a laptop with a burner that supported cdg you might be able to get a plug and play burner like MTU sells that would work, assuming the laptop had USB ports. I'm purely speculating on this one. Maybe someone else can answer it and jump in. If they miss it, try starting a new thread addressing that issue.Glad you're getting somewhere with cdg copying.

Now, let's take another step.If you simply want to copy an entire CDG, the Duplicate tab will save you a lot of manual labor. It will copy the entire disc to a hard drive image, then write it to a cd. Once again saving files is done automatically. Just make certain if you're copying a CDG disc that you've selected Karaoke mode, and the if it's simply an audio cd, select audio mode. Didn't give you this yesterday as I thought it best to get you up and running first. I wanted to make certain your equipment was reading and writing CDG.Forgive me if I took the wrong approach..Have fun:g

P.S. Be VERY SPECIFIC when shopping that laptop. Don't simply ask for Karaoke compatability. Specify CDG Format. A lot of people are getting burned out there buying burners that claim to process
Karaoke, when in fact they may only support VCD, not the popular CDG. I know because it happened to me when got started in all this.:m Hope you didn't mind that "fatherly " lecture:w

CDG on a Lap Top
 

We have never heard of a Lap Top with a CDR/CDRW drive that will read or write the CDG format. These portable puppies are not designed for our specific niche market.

This is why we offer our USB CDR drive. It can attach to a USB-1 type or USB-2 type port. It runs at 8x max write speed on a type 2, and at 4x on a type 1. Microstudio required of course. :w

The composition without the Title plays in the player. but not when i include a title sheet.

I'm having trouble relating your post to this thread.

If you are experiencing a problem I'd suggest starting a new thread and explaining exactly what's happening, and advise us of your system details.

This thread is over four years old and hasn't been posted on since 3-6-02. Product versions have changed in that time as have solutions to problems.
