Help finding laptop

I currently have a laptop with i5 processor. With my very large library the i5 is no where near fast enough. What I would like is a i7 processor, HDMI (2 would be nice), video plug for external monitor, and USB ports. I\'m not sure what is ideal for Ram.

I\'m sorry, did you miss the part about needing a video(monitor) connection? I scanned your web site first and did not see anything that showed that feature. I also have hoster loaded already and cant really afford another copy. Thank you for your reply as you are the only responder so far.

Not sure what you mean by video connection. HDMI will work if you have HDMI on your monitor. Personally, I don\'t think you are going to gain much speed when you go from an I5 to a I7.

I have a toshiba laptop I use for my CAD design with an external monitor to make things bigger. The the monitor plugs into a VGA plug on the laptop just like a desk top. I would like to have that bigger monitor on the karaoke laptop at shows to better see my search results. The Asus laptop I have now does no have such a feature.

Re: Help finding laptop

We have adapters that can go from HDMI to VGA, so you could use that 2nd monitor that way.

From what I saw, every one of those laptops they sell have a secondary video output for extended desktop display (required to put singer screen on it\'s own).
If you need a specific output like VGA or S-Video, you get an HDMI converter.

Re: Help finding laptop

Thanks for the feedback. My current computer has one HDMI output. I tried it with my monitor, works fantastic for indexing and editing. Would this one output, with a splitter, send the karaoke screen to the TV and the hoster screen to the monitor? If not, can a USB be adapted for monitor output?

Re: Help finding laptop

I send my one HDMI output (for the singer screen) to 4 screens via a splitter. I do believe you\'ll need to make sure all the tv\'s are on the same setting as far as resolution.
The Hoster screen would remain on the laptop screen. They do make USB video cards - however I do not think it would change the ability to move the Hoster screen to an external monitor along with the singer screen.

You can change the resolution of your laptop screen so it\'s a little bigger

I have a wireless Actiontec screenbeam device which allows you to duplicate your desktop while at the same time extending the singers monitor via HDMI.

I made a Video of the setup, heres the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ykh0VNCiB0

In the video I already had the extended screen set via HDMI, then added the Actiontec device.

This is a link showing the device: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Media-Str...ver/B00CZ6WAEQ

Im not sure if chromecast devices work the same way or weather you need a broadband connection for those but the Actiontec needs no broadband connection.

You can adjust the size of the print from Tools/Settings/Set Playlist Font and search font also which also makes the edit font larger.

I\'ve been able to make do with the suggestions about bigger font size. The I5 chip is perfectly fine. I have a very large data base and search is fast enough for my needs. thanks to all.
