KHP4 produced CD+G and CAVS JB-199 compatibility

I have some general questions before placing an order with MTU. I am interested in your MTU-certified DVD burner and KHP4 software.

I have a CAVS JB-199 windows-based karaoke jukebox. CAVS recommends use of Plextor brand CDG reader/burner.

1) Can I assume that the MTU-certified CDG/DVD burner for sale is Plextor OEM?

2) Search of this forum of "CAVS" and "JB-199" came up empty. The
JB-199 can upload and store mp3/CDG files. Is it correct to assume that CD+G produced by KHP4 could not be uploaded into JB-199 because it is a wav/CDG format?

3)Is there a way to convert the KHP4 wav/CDG file to a usable mp3/CDG file?

Would love to be able to make CDGs of songs that are not available for sale as karaoke, but suspect that I am SOL. :g

Thanks

Re: KHP4 produced CD+G and CAVS JB-199 compatibility

Corrections to my original post...........

Considering purchase of your DVD burner and Karaoke Suite 4. :r

The CAVS JB-199 program manager uses a "CDG encoder" to upload CDGs into JB-199 hard drive. Is the encoder converting WAV/CDG files to MP3/CDG format? :?

Obviously, I'm a novice at all this. Just hate ordering software and finding out it doesn't do what I thought it would!

Thanks again,

Re: KHP4 produced CD+G and CAVS JB-199 compatibility

Songs produced with karaoke home producer can be burned to a cdg cd and loaded into cavs just like any other karaoke cdg. I have the khp 4 myself, and I like it very much.

I cannot say whether a cdg file produced by home producercan be read directly, or if you would have to make the cgd disk first, But I do know it will read in fron a disk. :g

If CAVs converter can take a file on the hard drive, then the KHPro created .CDG file can be imported directly into it.

Also, our .cdg file extension is the same as the .bin file extension, which many programs support.

We use .cdg because we were first doing PC Karaoke and that is the extension we have always used. :t

BIN files often are NOT true CD+Graphics files with the R-W lyrics/graphics codes. Thus, it can be very confusing for users of any technical understand to try and convert a .BIN file that is, for example, the entire disc image file for an audio, or CDROM, or VCD or other disc format... but they won't know that. They try, and try, and... you get the idea. :r

MTU .CDG files ARE true TRACK image files from a CD+Graphics disc. They are always safe for all user's satisfaction and joy! :w
