Edit Karaoke File Name

I need to edit a large number of files. My field order is fine. I need to change 50\'s to 50s and other similar edits.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a program that will do that?

Re: Edit Karaoke File Name

Are you referring to files names that have already been imported or editing file names prior to importing ?

You can Bulk edit song Data in Hosters Edit dialog using the Multiples tab. The examples you gave 50’s to 50s would normally fall under the Genre heading but you can only use the allocated examples for that which would be 1950’s there being a few other like Pop - 1950’s.

If you’ve got that 50’s as part of the Title or Artist field then you can edit it in the edit Singles dialog Find and Replace feature.
This feature only works on Artist, Title, and Genre fields.
Should have stated “only works on Artist, Title, and Brand fields”

Re: Edit Karaoke File Name

Thanks for the reply. You found the heart of the problem tough, when you said \"it only works on Artist, Title, and Genre fields\". The apostrophe is allowed in those fields so I have no problem there.
The problem is it\'s not allowed in the Disk ID field. So any editing done AFTER import is no good because I can\'t import those songs.

BUT YOU DID give me an idea. I tried importing the problem songs with the Disk ID field set to be \"Artist\" (and ignore the real Artist field).
Then I edited the Artist field as necessary. I thought I could then re-import the songs with the correct field naming order/configuration.
Unfortunately, the bulk edit feature does not change the file name, not even the KMH file name was changed. It\'s just some internal note it keeps.
Anyway, back to the drawing board.
I need to use an outside program to bulk edit the file names.

Re: Edit Karaoke File Name

A program I use to Bulk edit the original file name before importing is:
https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Download.php
Its free to use, if you have a problem understanding it post back with an example file name and what you want to achieve and I’ll try to help.

Mistake I made in previous post should have read Only works on Artist, Title And Brand fields, not Genre.

Re: Edit Karaoke File Name

Thanks Roy. That was exactly what I was looking for.
A small learning curve, but a great program. Did exactly what I needed.
I had to rename some file before importing.
I had to convert my karaoke Zip files to mp3 + cdg. Then id worked.
Thanks.

Glad it worked for you. Great little program, can look a bit daunting at first but once you get used to it works wonders.

I will close this thread as solved now.
