I can't see any DVD with my new MTU DVD burner

I just installed the DVD burner I bought from MTU but it will not play as a DVD that means video. Windows gives a message that I need a DVD decoder. It did not come with an "Install Disc". Do I need this? Is it available online? Any idea what I need to make it work? It plays CD's fine but no DVD.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Stela

Stela to play movie DVDs you need a program such as WinDVD. Did your computer come with a DVD drive or a CD drive originally? If it was a DVD then in your discs that came with the computer should be a program for that. If not then you can do a Google or Yahoo search and find one to install.
