Problems with 3.004

Hey All,
Spent last weekend trying to make 3.004 do what it is supposed to do.
I have already reported problems importing discs to the hard drive in another thread.
First click to open, message says MP3G files don't contain exactly 1 mp3 and 1 cdg file.
Read disc, message says my PC is offline, when it isn't.
Open karaoke or audio files, message says default folder doesn't contain files in any usable formats.
My default folder, which is still Songlist, contains cdg. bin. wma. mp3g. zip. midi. and some files only read by specialist programmes, yet none of them are recognized.
Have read the manual from cover to cover and still nothing works properly, could I have downloaded a corrupt copy?
Anyway uninstalled and re-installed 2.613 everything worked perfectly, so its not my Plextor 760A which I was starting to suspect had gone awol
Rgards from across the pond

Have you checked the MP3+G zip files to see if this is the case? There can be nothing more and nothing less in those files.

This usually indicates a firewall blockage or you could have just had a long enough delay getting to the server or server could have been down will trigger error message.

Did you set the default folder after installing or did you take it for granted that was it? The default by this version is "Songs" under Microstudio not "Songlist" which is a Hoster default.

Morning Garry....or should I say good afternoon to you:g

Do you have another version hidden in another folder somewhere? The same thing happend to me. I had MS 2.6 hidden in another folder and I deleated it and reinstalled 3.xxx. Make sure to do and uninstall and not an upgrade when you install 3.xxx

Hey Dale and Larry,
Mp3g must be OK they play in Winamp and Elite, when I open them I see both files
The offline message comes on immediately and I have checked my firewall is set to recieve all MTU communications
I changed my default folder to Songlist from Songs and it will automatically bring that folder up.
I did uninstall 2.613 as instructed when I put the later version on and checked that it had been deleted in all folders.
Regards from across the pond.

And no additional files possibly added by Winamp or Elite?

The freedb communication isn't from an MTU site. Hoster uses it too. Have you had any problem with it in Hoster?

Do you see all the files in the leftside window?

Garry A. Leslie January 10th, 2007 08:01 PM

Hey Dale,
No there are no other files just the mp3 and the cdg files.
Hoster works perfectly
No the LH window shows nothing.
Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky.
I have a new laptop and would like to download the MTU programmes to it.
A completely new hard disc with nothing on it, I want to put Hoster on it for shows and cancel out my other Shuttle, which I have been using, but it might be worth putting Microstudio on it also to see if it will work without any previous progs to foul it up.
Unfortunately MTU will say I have already downloaded files to 2 computers , which, of course, is true, I have always deleted the files from other computers when I change computers, so will await MTU's instructions.
Goodnight its 1.00am here.
Regards from across the pond.
Garry
