Microstudio

I am not a KJ professional and sometimes I might go for several months w/o even opening Microstudio, etc. I just tried to open Microstudio 2.400 for the first time in quite a while and got an error message-'Microstudio.exe cannot find file DDRAW.dll-missing' or something similar.

I just ordered the upgrade to 2.600. Will I need to have 2.400 working before the upgrade will work ?-and if so, I'd appreciate some help on this. I vaguely remember a similar problem when 2.400 first came out-but that was so far back that I can't find anything in the forums about this. I wasn't even aware that there was a 2.500 out there.

Any help would be appreciated so I can get 2.600 working when I download it.

Thanks,

Alan North

Not having a prior version should have nothing to do with installing 2604.

That does not say you may not get an error message if a necessary file is missing from you computer. If that does happen, post the exact message, not "or something similar".

Alan,

Ddraw.dll a part of DirectX which is needed to run MicroStudio. Yours may be corrupted.

You can download a new version from here.

As George stated, you don't need to be running a previous version to install 2.604 but it will require a working DirectX.

DirectX latest version is 9.0b, make sure you graphics card supports it.

Good luck,

Jon
