Distortion from CDG Downloads
I purchased some CDG's to download into hoster software. Everything seemed to download ok but when I play them they sound very distorted. I have tried looking on this forum and in the book and cannot seem to solve this or find what happened. I have Hoster 3.18 and Microsoft Windows XP Pro. I downloaded at 128. Please help.

I had the same problem. But only with certain burned disc's. All my originals worked perfect ( about 99% of my cdg's ). But the few burns i have were a no go. I believe that was the karaoke godz telling me something....
|
so does this mean noone can help me? or help me figure what is wrong?
|
Maybe what you purchased wasnt legit. All I know is my Originals loaded up perfectly. I had the same problem you had with my bogus discks.
|
I also noticed that it did not download the lyrics. Could it be my driver isnt reading correctly?

Did you have Hoster before? Did it work before? If not, i'd have to say it's your cd drive. I had one that just wasn't compatible - even after updating all drivers & software - that gave bad distorted sound & nothing but garbled graphics - none readable. I found a cheap clearance dvd drive for $20 at WalMart (LiteOn) & everything worked beautifully after that. Your cd/dvd drive may not be compatible.

Actually this is the first time I have ever gotten hoster and bought the most recient one. How do you put the kma into the hard drive or whatever you said.... I'm not quite sure how to go about that

External drive is not necessary, unless she has no computer knowledge to swap out the internal - which isn't really hard these days. Internals are alot cheaper than externals as a rule. |
Have you tried playing a track directly from a disc? I see no mention of it.

My xbox 360 is not allowing me to go online while Im working at my show. Is this a hoster problem or maybe.............sorry wrong forum te he

Yes, I can place the karaoke cd in the drive and it plays perfectly, however it does not read the title of the song or anything. This is probably a very stupid question but can you purchase online a downloadable drive to read the cdg's?
|
MTU does sell a drive that is guaranteed to read the CDG format. Look on their web site.

Try this test. 1. Run Hoster 2. Click the Tools menu and the CD/DVD Drives Default command 3. In the dialog box that appears, click the Detect Again button at the bottom center 4. Insert a NEW, not copied, CDG disc in your drive and continue the testing This should do a more complete test than the "default" standard test. We don't require this as the default since you must insert a disc in your drive for testing. If this shows NO for Kar Read, then you need a different DVD drive. If this shows YES, then something else may be wrong. :? Post your test result here so everyone helping can see. |
Ok, I tried 4 different Cd's all were non copies but original karaoke cd's- Sound choice, Supercore, Legends Gold, Etc... on the kar read it stated no on each of them. Is this the reason why when imported they sounded distorted and no lyrics came up? If so, a new drive will take care of this right? Then, do I redownload all of those CD's? Thanks Guys for all your help... I really appreciate it.

Did you ever try playing a CDG disc in Microstudio to see if the results were the same? |
