What operating system?
How or where did you get the KMA files? The only way you can create them is to import them from within Hoster or convert them from other formats with Songverter.
To get Hoster to see them you have to build the database (Tools/Build Database). When the Build window opens select the Folder the files are located in and build.

Thank you for your replies.

The KMA's came from a friend that has Hoster.

Since this is the Demo model, I can't use the Build Database feature.

I assume that since it comes with the disclaimer that I can only listen to 90 seconds of 20 songs that they expect me to play music.

Where is the music !?

I'm dissapointed that this company does not provide phone support.

If you put the disk in you can import to the C: demo/hoster/songs folder and it will play from there. I just did this last night.:)

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 02:50 PM

I just tried that.

It acknowledges the files, starts importing, and then says 'Aborted'.

I don't get it.

Also, this seems to be quite a lengthy process to get songs into the Karaoke player. I imagine spending weeks importing any sizable library.
Is that what I'm facing ?

ranger2050 December 13th, 2007 02:55 PM

Yes. I just that. You might try uninstalling and re-installing the demo. Maybe you had a bad download.

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 02:56 PM

I'll try it.

Thanks

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:15 PM

no luck.

very discouraging.

Are you using XP or Vista?
Also, you need to go to Microsoft's Windows Update web page and do the Custom Update. Install all the software and critical updates listed.

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:18 PM

XP pro sp-2

all updates are in place.

ddouglass December 13th, 2007 04:21 PM

Including .Net Framework?

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:26 PM

yes

ddouglass December 13th, 2007 04:32 PM

What type of disc drive? It may be that your drive needs a firmware (not the driver) update or your drive is not compatable with CDG format as not all drives will read it.

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:40 PM

that's possible.

when I installed the demo, it ran me through a cd hardware read test and I got no errors.

How else to I tell ?

ddouglass December 13th, 2007 04:54 PM

Look in Tools\CD/DVD Drives Defaults. The drives listed should tell you Make/Model and Firmware Version. In the KAR Read column it should say "Yes"

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:54 PM

it Does say 'yes'

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 04:56 PM

could it be because it's already a KMA file ?

How do I deal with KMA files

ddouglass December 13th, 2007 04:57 PM

What is the drive make and model and version of Firmware?

rchaisse December 13th, 2007 05:00 PM

I'll have to get back to you on that.. got an appointment.

Thanks for your assistance.
