I Need Help! - Fixed by reinstalling Hoster
 

The company i work for recently upgrade from cd+g,to the hoster program..I've spent the last week uploading all the cd's into the program. However,the last 300 Cd+g's i have uploaded messed up somehow. They seem to have only uploaded the graphics and not the music. Yet the 2000 songs i put in before work fine. I would greatly appreciate your correspondence on this problem.

Never heard of this before.

When you play one of these "without audio" songs, what happens? Be very specific, including what does the Playlist window Dur(ation) field show for thes files, and what is the actual playing time when you play one? :?

The more you can tell us the sooner we can diagnose what is happening here. It is a unique problem.... :s

Create a Playlist with some of the "files with audio" and some "files without audio". Play some of each in Auto Play mode (click the Auto -vs- Man button on the Playlist screen) and insure you hear the audio in the first but not the second. I'm wondering if your audio somehow got disabled? :? :? :?

For the ones without audio,the playlist duration window says 4:14 before I press play. As soon as I press play it goes to 0:01. Then the graphics come on the screen and begin playing, but there is no audio.
When i play a kma that has audio,it starts at 4:35 and counts down directly from there as soon as I hit play.:? :? :?

also when the no audio files play,the duration stays @ 0:01,but the graphics play thru the entire song just as if the music was actually playing:?

Stupid Questions....

Have you tried to re-import a few of the bad songs?

Is the brand of CD+G you are importing all the same(?), some kind of copy write protection?

You said the last 300 CDG's you imported? Sorry to be blunt:s ....why wait untill 300 cdg's later to check your work? Why not do a random check after 10 or 25 CD's. Computers are not perfect....it's nice to check once in a while.

yes i've tried to re-import. but i have the same outcome. as for checking,i did the periodic check for the first 2100 songs,and they were flawless...so as i was updating i didn't feel that i had to monitor it,as the program was working flawlessly up until the last 300 songs

No Not All Of The Cd's Are The Same...i Have Soundchoice,pop Hits Monthly,music Maestro,karaoke Bay,top Hits Monthly,sweet Georgia Brown,etc Etc...

Is Hoster the only program on the computer?

No..haven't Loaded Anything Else...we Have Hoster And Microstudio And That's It..both Installed At The Same Time

Well....I'm not sure. you may need to post the specs on your set up and how you are importing...internal CDG reader, Externa USB cdg reader, and so on.....

As Far As How I'm Importing...i Put In The Brand,the Disc Id #..then I Hit Next On The Book Id,hit Read Cd Tracks,then Hit Import Tracks

Is the CDG reader external?
If it is, does it connect via USB?
Laptop or desk top?
Operating system? XP?
Processor speed?
Ram?
What kind of sound device?
Seperate sound card?
Sound card on the motherboard?

internal reader,Xp Pro,desktop,Intel Pentium 4 3.20 Ghz, 512mb ram,creative sb audigy soundcard?...that's about as much as i can tell you about what's in it ..my employer had this machine built specifically for karaoke...i know the soundcard is hifi..

soundcard on the motherboard disabled.....soundblaster card is seperate only functioning soundcard

When I first started importing CDG's into the software they were between 3,000 kb to 6,000k,now they are impoting @ 1,000k to 2000k

you must set the soundblaster as your default sound card. you will find this in the control panel unser system sounds.
