Ripping in Music.....
I have ripped in about 550 discs with no problem. Today I ripped in about 25 and they are showing in the folder that I saved them to but wont import in when i rebuild my base so in Hoster they are not there but are in the folder where i ripped them in to. i need help on this one. im stumped. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

How did you rip or import them?
If you imported from the Hoster Import utility (either CD or Hard Drive then they would already be there and you don't need to rebuild the database to get them to show. |
re
yea i know. when i close hoster and reopen it they are gone again. still on the h.d. folder bit not in hoster. i brought them in on "import cd tracks"
|
All in one folder (with the previous 550) or a separate one?
|
re
all in the same folder. is there a way i can talk to you on the phone?
|
No, I don't put my phone number in a public forum.
Do you get any error messages when you import them? |
re
no error messages. i am using 2 different computers to rip into my external hd's. after about 100-150 i copy them to each other and then re-build. it is not even showing them being brought into the h.d. i just tried another and it played fine. i closed hoster reopened it and it is gone again. still in the hd folder but not in hoster

Check some of the files properties and make sure they are not read only. When you copy/move from one computer to another then sometimes Windows will set them as Read Only. Hoster cannot use them that way.
|
re
i havent moved the 25 discs yet. i did 25 in each and neither computer is showing them in hoster. none are read only. i just checked.
|
Check your Songs.mdb file and make sure it isn't read only as well. This is confusing but there has to be a simple answer.
|
what is a mdb file and where is it located at
|
That is the database file. You will find it in C:\MTU\Hoster and it is named Songs.mdb.
|
i see it on one computer the other shows it as "Songs: microsoft access application. neither is read only
|
What operating system are you using?
If that folder is not there then Hoster won't work at all. |
using xp professional. just tried a few songs on both that are showing in hoster and works fine. just cant find the newly ripped in ones
|
Next question is what version of Hoster?
Is your Hoster installed on the C: drive? |
it is on the c drive. i just goth this on christmas eve of 2009. where do i look for the version?
|
Open Hoster, go Help/ About Hoster.
If you just Installed it, then it should be 4.11. |
yes. it is 4.11
|
Then there has to be a folder on C: called MTU and in that folder will be another folder called Hoster.
