Downloaded Hoster V4.07

When I downloaded Hoster 4.07, I then opened Hoster went to Help and ticked About Hoster to make sure I have 4.07. I have it, but all the info is to the bottom right of the box it's suppose to be in. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ernie

It shows up correctly on both of mine that I just loaded. Not sure why yours is not correct.

This was a stability/fix bugs release.

There are some changes they made to existing parts of it. Look on the Download page for the list of Changes and fixes. I think you will decide to upgrade.
Biggest one I can think of this stops all the "refeshing" going on in both the search and the Singer's Database and allows you to open and close them both without risking problems with the playing song.

Thanks Dale

I will check it out I have seen some refresh problems just never thought about them being problems.

What the heck, How long has 4.07 been out and why didn't I know about it, I'm on this site everyday and nothing says it was out. I just read it in a thread that there is a possible problem with it. Sorry, I see when it was released yesterday 2/23. Must have been posted after I left site.

billyo February 24th, 2009 09:51 AM

i just found out about it too, and i read something like playing video files now only shows up on singers screen, i never had problems with 4.06 ,everything is in sync( video/audio ) that's why i'm hesitant to do the upgrade..i like to see the video showing on the viewer and preview screen..

I updated to 4.07 this morning, I have been running a 'mock show' to see if I have any problems, so far so good. I also read on MTU site about the changes made and in one section they said "strongly recommend you replace your Vista with "Vista Premium with Downgrade to XP". Where do I get such an upgrade. I hate Vista or do I have to just do like I said in a diff post. Wipe out everything and install my copy of XP? I'm not having problems right now thanks to Dale, Madjim, and this forum I just want a stable system and XP seems to be the way.

We have found 2 issues.

So there will be a new download of version 4.07 released in a little while. Please download it again, we will post back in here when the new version is up and running.

1) We found will not play .mp3 files.

2) Also if you allow it to the play to the very end of a song in Autio, it will crash, when playing a .kma file.

These both are now fixed in the version we are uploading today.

Please wait to download until we have posted that the new version is up there.

You would have to do as we talked about earlier. Unfortunately there is no downgrade that will preserve anything on the drive. They are just saying their recommendation is to downgrade to XP.

And guys they just release yesterday afternoon ....late.:g

JNS02 February 24th, 2009 01:11 PM

Thanks Dale, I was REALLY AFRAID you would say that. So I will wait until 4.10 as we talked about before. Again, Thanks

Ripped Off

Just read about 4.07, I wait ages for a release that will show video in preview window pay for 4.06 install it on my old computer works ok, order new high spec computer at £1700 pounds to find when it gets here this function will have been removed and that also you have to pay for a upgrade of a poor product. PCDJ Manages to show three preveiw windows and a singers window whilst beat keeping a audio file with no problems and 20% less processing power, Guess where my mony is going,
Cheers.:m:m:m

My thought is this, if you want the video in the preview and don't mind the other problems and crashes that 4.07 fixed (when they release again) then stick with 4.06. If it worked on your old computer don't blame Hoster for you buying a new expensive computer.
Nothing has said it won't be back in the preview later, but for now the player that did this is also the player that caused many people to have crashes during shows and that is not professional. That is why it was removed for now.

MTUSUPPORT February 24th, 2009 04:16 PM

The new 4.07 is now up and ready for Download. You can get it here http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm

Singsation February 24th, 2009 04:59 PM

What is not professional is releasing a product that isn't fit for purpose then rather than fixing it, remove it's core components, Ford wouldn’t make a car and sell it with dodgy Turbo then remove it without warning, and leave you with a standard block. And a sure one size does not fit all as well do our shows differently and on a wide array on computers, but that’s what Beta testers are for. As for equipment we can only go one the recommendations of Forums, we are already told to use XP and not to expect it to work on windows 7 until SP1.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
What we should remember this is a job and a living to some people and not a Hobby and real craftsmen rely on good tools.<o:p></o:p>

I would certainly want Ford to remove that Turbo if it was causing crashes or fires!!
Would you like for the Beta Testers to go out and buy every computer in the world and set it up the way evreyone does with their personal likes and dislikes all at our own expense???:e No thanks I don't have that kind of money to do it and I can tell you none of the rest do either.
XP is a known factor and a stable platform for the most part. Vista is not and this is why MTU recommends not using Vista unless you have to. Windows 7 is an unknown factor altogether and I don't know about you but I have yet to see an operating system come out of Microsoft that was stable and not full of bugs to begin with. Gee I guess their Beta Testers missed a few things too or Microsoft went ahead and released without fixing it. The U.S. Defence Department will not touch any MS operating system until at least two service pack releases.
Hoster did not show any videos in the preview display until 4.06 came out with it and now your griping because they took it away for causing major problems???? No one is forcing you to upgrade to 4.07. Stick with 4.06 and be happy.
