I just upgraded my back-up laptop and doing a mock-up show , been running for about 1hr now, this is what i noticed, when playing video i get the vocals on the new video player clicking on no vocals and clicked on play it reverts back to vocals ( turns gray ) and none on the old one and video is not showing up on my main screen , only on the preview ( audience ) screen, is this how it supposed to run...? i don't have that problem on 4.05

New Player does not have Mux capability or Key Change for Videos but has been set for Vocals off as default. Video should be showing in both preview and singer's display.
Old player does have Mux capability and Key Change for Videos. Videos only show on singer's display. Some have had it show only on the preview instead.

If you have vocals on the new player then there is no way to turn it off. They reset it turn default to one of the audio channels (don't remember which one) and it is the one used by most karaoke videos (VCD, etc,). You may have one that is the opposite channel.

Not sure we are using the same terminology for the displays. In your first post you said you had video only in the "preview (audience) screen. This is confusing me because what we refer to as the preview is the small screen in the Hoster main window. The audience screen to me would be the singer's display. So where exactly are you seeing the video using the Old Player?
I don't use any videos so I am only passing on why I know is supposed to be.

oh ok, on the old player video is showing up on singers display, not on hoster main scr een(it only shows the title , but no video )with vocals and on the new player, video is showing on both screen with vocals

4.06 is great, just got done doing a mocked-up show from the time i upgraded till now 1:50 am no problems, ( except for the videos ), but i think i will just have to downgrade to 4.05 where i could used some of my vcd's w/o clicking back & forth to new/old player..

That is what it is supposed to do. The whole reason for the new video player was the request by some that they wanted to see the video in the Hoster program/DJ area. That is what we call the preview window.

The old player does not show anything on the DJ preview area but allows more control of the video file. Mux and key change.

Hey Billy,
Have you tried using 3.40 to run your MUX video's? 3.40 uses the old player and the mux buttons work.

Since 4.05 defaults to the MUX channel that works on your videos, I think Dale hit the nail on the head here.

I see two ways you can do this:

1. Use 4.06 to run your show and 3.40 to run your MUX videos.

2. Use 4.05 until MTU can look into this deeper.

As always, thanks for posting your findings!

it's not really a big deal to me, video is running fine in 4.06, except it's playing with the vocals, in 4.05 i could play a video without the vocals

most of my singers that wanted to sing vcd don't even ask for key change they are fine with whatever the video's pitch..

solved the problem

well , got it to worked, video plays without the vocals now on the new player, i had to used a single cable (1/8 to 3/4 trs cable) this way you'll hear both speakers ( stereo effect ),don't use a single cable to a y adapter ( for left and right channels )you'll get the vocals and you can't use a single 1/8 to 3/4 mono cable either or you'll only get 1 speaker going.. hope these helps:):)

While chaning the cable setup may allow you to play videos without vocals, the MUX does not work in the" New Player". If you simply use the "Old Player" (under Options), all MUX functions work:g, as well as it coming up without vocals. The only difference is that you won't see the videos in the Preview Window in the upper left corner.

Hi billyo

If you run you're sound through a mixer then you just need to pan out the right channel eliminating the vocals.

Joe....

i used a single 1/8 cable to 1/4 trs cable, tried using a single 1/8 to a rca cable to a y 1/4 mono adaptor plugged into a single channel, didnt work either..

ddouglass October 27th, 2008 11:12 PM

Billy is that a stereo 1/8" plug? If not that may be your problem. Your computer output is stereo which requires a TRS 1/8 to a TRS 1/4 to get the 2 channels to the mixer.

i had 1/8 to rca to a y 1/4 adapter cable plugged in at the time while i was having this problem, yes its is now 1/8 to 1/4 trs cable and by using that cable i solved the vocal problems..:)
