There is another tool in the rebuild database dialog "Define field Order" button where you select the field order but that only works on files that have never been imported before and you would also have to use "Song Types to index " feature with it.

You would probably be better of re-importing them via the Index Song Files dialog. but before reimporting them from there you would probably need to delete the importedFiles.txt in each folder first.

With the amount of files you have this is going to be a long job unless all your files follow the same naming order, which I doubt they would so you would have to be monitoring it all the time.

If you think they were all imported originally with the one long file name then I think this would be the best option If you want them named correctly otherwise you would need to edit every file separately.
Alternately import them all for now as previously but use the Add folders/subfolders button and then see if they are all one long file name or if it only applies to a few.

If decide to re-import the files and you have some kma files that were imported direct from disc might be better importing them as you did with the 2 small folders first as you can't change their field order and that will stop any duplicated problems when reimporting the others.

So I just need to delete the "ImportedFiles.txt" from each folder and monitor the import of the files? Or do I need to delete each KMH file and then import the files again? I wouuld lilke to have the files read correctly, which would be the best method?

Thanks,
Brett

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

Is there any other type of program that I could install and correct the id tags for these songs?

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

It would be best to delete the kmh files as well which is then like starting from scratch.

Regarding the id tags, most of the old ripped karaoke tracks never had their id tags indexed so still need to be manually indexed.
I don't know of any other programs that will fix this for you.
Also I don't believe video tracks contain ID tags.

Mp3 tracks on the other hand generally do have all their Id tags in tact and can be indexed automatically. You can try importing these through the index song files dialog and most should automatically get the correct field order without having to set it up previously.
You might want to view my video on this subject here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjf7fxEK5wk ithe mp3 import is at the beginning and it does sort the title and artist for mp3 types.
This is from an earlier version of Hoster but that part is the same and may help you.

Roy,
Well I am still in the process of reloading all my songs. I went in and deleted all the kmh files and the importedfiles.txt from each folder. My issue know is that my "C" drive is full and I have only 3/4 of my songs imported. How do I change the drive location for hoster since I have 579gb of storage in my "D" drive rather than the 179gb in my "C" driver. How do I move hoster to the "D" drive? Other than that, seems things are running great, thanks for all your help.
Brett

To the best of my knowledge you must install Hoster on the C drive, if your music files are on your F drive then it adds the kmh headers to the same folder so will not affect the size of your C drive.
The only things that use your C\ drive is the songs database and various text files that wouldn't use that much space to fill up your drive probably no more than 200mb.
But it has come to my knowledge that Hoster now uses a tempory folder on the C\Drive for some functions and maybe the importing is one of them.
I think you are now seeing a similar problem to "uhuhnottelling" who was running out of space on his C drive, you can read what he found in post #80.
This folder is hidden on most computers so you can't find it, to un hide it open Windows control panel/folder options then click the view tab, look down the list for Hidden files and folders and select Show Hidden files.

Then brows to C:\Users\your name\AppData\local\Temp\MTU_Hoster

See if this folder is filling up with songs files using up your spare space if so delete all the files in it and carry on importing.

I'm going to report this problem to MTU in case it's something they have over looked.

I found that folder and it was full of songs. Will those songs be in my database after I delete them from the c drive?

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

It's a tempory folder just there to store files while the process is importing it seems. to test it just delete a few of them from that folder then check they are still imported alright. If they are then it seems safe to delete the rest.
I have emailed support to take a look at this problem but I'm sure you'll be safe to delete them. I think there is a bug where it is not clearing the tempory folder.

Thanks again Roy. That folder was full. I have deleted the files and it did not affect anything in my database. So far working great. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Brett

Uhhuh and Bburton,
Can you two tell me what type of files your using and exactly what steps you are using when these folders are getting full?

We have been digging through the code all day today and have not yet run into anything that would cause your situation, so we need more information on this.

We need to know what types of files, etc.... with as Much information as you can give us.

Both versions of 5.09 have a distinct "click" if the song is stopped early. I have not updated my main computer yet because of this. For some reason I cannot make a new post anymore?? Would someone with the power please report this so it can be fixed. It did not do this with 5.08 on either of my machines. Both are HP Laptops running Windows 7. :e

Can you look at your Tools menu/Audio controls dialog, is the fade out control set to 0 if so try it at 0.5 or more see if that cures it.

I don't know why you can't make a new post :?

Hi Roy.
I set my fadeout to .5 It was a 2.0 and still getting the little squeek if I stop a song early. I did Roy's "fix" by clicking on the vol icon and changing the setting under playback-properties-enhancements-disable all enhancements but I still get the squeek or audible noise when ending a song early. I know, as the doctor said "well quite doing that" but sometimes I do end songs early. :w

I've no idea why you should be getting this problem as I have tried to duplicate it and can't.

I found this other post which is related to HP computers, a different problem to yours but may be worth looking into, it was to do with the audio drivers.
You can read it here: http://forum.mtu.com/showpost.php?p=116272&postcount=13

Her problem was audio drops but as it was an Hp issue might have some bearing on yours.

I can duplicate the "click" sound that TKelly is reporting only on 5.10 Beta 2, with my Acer Backup Laptop... I cannot get the same click sound to repeat on 5.09 B2 or 5.08.11 ( I have 3 versions running on this laptop )... only way I can get rid of the click sound is by turning off Breakaway Audio Enhancer... which doesn't seem to affect the other two versions... I run 5.09.02 & 5.09 B2 & 5.08.11 on my XP Show laptop with Breakaway Running, and no audible click sound on either version!:?

tkelley3,
I entered "our" problem on the Beta Tester Site, and Removal & Re-Installing was suggested by KenKelley... I tried it, and it worked for the version I was running (5.10 Beta2) *Note I am a Beta Tester for Hoster, so You won't have this version until the next upgrade! But maybe removing and re-installing 5.09 will work for you, like it did for me with 5.10... Good Luck!:)

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

I've been using 5.09 for about a month now. I started learning new things and one that I found that I like was to be able to add the song the singer just sang to that singers list from the Playlist by right mouse button click.

I tried the refreshing DB. The only way to add the songs to the singer database is to re-look the song up and add it at that time now.

I thought this was going to be an easy add to the singers database but now it has become much work again.

Now that function does not work anymore does anyone have any ideas?

I re-installed Hoster 5.09.02. I always make sure on updates. I am using Windows 8:f

Once you have the song in the playlist and you want to add it to the singers list, you first click on the singers column next to the song you want to add, place the singer you want to add in that column, hit enter. Now make sure that song is highlighted and again right click on it, you will see in the pop up menu the option of adding to the singers list. Hope this explains it clearly. Let me know if you get it to work.

I leaving for a job tonight in 15 minutes and I'll try this since I already packed.

What I have been trying is right mouse button the song in the playlist next to the singers name and a submenu appears to add the song to that singers list. I clicked add and than looked into the singers list and nothing was there. I refreshed the singers DB and still nothing.

But, I'll have few minutes before I start tonight and I'll give your suggestion a try.
Thanks:w
