Re: Hoster Skipping/studdering

We released 5.06 Beta 7 last night. We are now making these additional recommendations you should follow.

REQUIREMENTS: Shut down the following programs:
  • Change your "Power Management" (Control Panel) to the LEAST obtrusive on applications, and leave it that way (DClark found this was interrupting at "Real Time" level, and definitely caused dropouts).

  • Anti-virus programs you know to be a problem from the past

  • Skype

  • Email

  • All browsers (especially Chrome!)

  • All other applications except what you might run at a show

  • Reboot Windows to clean it up

In version 5.06, we have made many improvements to overcome audio dropouts, and they now look promising. :)

Version 5.06 is focused on fixing the audio dropouts you all are experiencing. We found and fixed "real reasons" for some dropouts. We also added a feature you can adjust so your computer won't drop audio. A few Betas tested Beta 7 last night and the results are promising.

We do not knowingly ship versions that drop audio! Some posts here state you have heard audio dropouts even back to 5.03. In the future, please create a new Thread (like this one) to tell us your Hoster XXX.XX version is dropping audio. The sooner we know this, the sooner we WILL fix it.

has this issue been solved yet? :) Im still waiting to get it solved, i did a reinstall of my machine to see if that fixed the dropouts and it did not...

It is realy starting to irritate my karaoke singers, since the lyrics does not work after the skipping and studdering.

Running hoster 5.05 atm, and as i posted earlyer this problem hit when we installed 5.03.

Well Roy I have waited a few weeks to test and run alot of gigs to report on this. There is a conflict between Cyberlink and Hoster. If you have Cyberlink programs, get rid of them. I deleted it from my laptop weeks back and have never had a problem since...Funny thing though is I have it on my desktop and have no problems with it, go figure.

we have a fix for audio dropouts.

However, Background Audio player, Fades, and Instabuttons have developed problems as a result of adding Tempo change. :r

Please be patient. We ARE on this 100%, trying to get a solid release out that doesn't drop audio.
