that was my experience before so I suppose it's something in the drive... funny though, I have a separate regular dj software program and it is reading the regular dj mp3 and wma files off this hdd just fine.....

this is just getting ridiculous. I went over to the offices at MTU and Doug was kind enough to spend some time with me. We figured out that the actually cdr itself was damaged. He hooked up an external disc to my computer and it imported cdg's just fine.

So I went to replace the cdr in my laptop to learn that it has a proprietary interface and I'll have to hunt that particular one down. Well I don't have time for that so I bought an external dvd/cdr that I'm told reads CDG.

I bring it home and hook it up, it will play cd's on windows media player just fine. I go to hoster to import from cdg thinking everything is just fine.

First i get an error message that says IO error INFO II failed with error 0x45d... I press ok and another message reads cd/dvd drive not ready insert a disc and try again.

Any ideas? and btw a big thanks to doug for his helpfullness and time.

what model is the drive? i recently tried both PX-230a and PX-504a, and both of those work flawlessly with hoster and microstudio.

(btw, if you aren't using the most current version of the software, you won't get as many supported devices. there was a gargantuan difference in this respect between 2.2.1.9 and 3.3.2.1)

it is a lite-onmodel dx-20A4pu

i just ordered a plextor onlinne that supports cdg... i know plextor supports cdg...

dcrog March 31st, 2008 05:18 PM

Ahhh. Check twice. Plextor stopped supporting CDG. That's why MTU went to the Optiarc drives.

Plextor has dropped support of cdg reading/writing about a year or two ago. You may get lucky.
LiteOn was supposed to have hired some of the old techs that left Plextor & will supposedly keep the cdg ability. I know I have 4 different models (internal desktop) & they all work with Hoster & Microstudio.

If it is a 716 or 760 they do work and are listed as supporting CDG. Models after that point do not have CDG listed but most should be ok. If you want a garranteed one try buying it from MTU as they test all theirs.

Bi-Polar Bear April 3rd, 2008 06:39 PM
