"Files and Settings Transfer Wizard"
:?

This is something I have never heard of. I always set up by installing windows, doing all the updates then install the programs. If I have data that needs transferring, I just copy and paste.

I don't have a clue as to how they set it up.

MTUSUPPORT March 21st, 2006 10:16 AM

The Plextor 716SA should work. I have not tested one of those.

We don't ship anywhere outside of the USA. Sorry about this, but the VAT taxes that were refused by to many customers, so we got stuck having to pay the taxes. This is why we no longer will ship outside of the US, it was not worth it to our company.

Here are the Drives that will work, I have tested and know for a fact.

Plextor PX-716A
Plextor PX-716AL
Plextor PX-716UF

Make sure you don't get the Plextor 760, 740, 750, 755 models. These are not yet supported, and will not be for months yet.

Well now, thanks for your help there... I just saw this post tonight. I believe you've already read all the information I've posted elsewhere. I've followed EVERY suggestion you've made. I've posted a TON of GIFS showing every possible setting on my computer, in the drivers, and in the drives.

Why don't we consolidate all my info right now and reply only to the posts on the topic "Problems with AMD64 and RAID drives...et al". That's where I've been looking lately and it seems to have the most "informative" posts from everyone with this problem.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, I might have gotten all emotional too :c

Gene

Same problem here

I am experiencing the same problem, I have also tried to install all the different drivers recomended.
I have an AMD processer with a raid controller card with a raid 0 array that stripes 2 hard drives.
These 2 hard drives are my local (C) drive.
I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-K8NSC-939).
I expericend this problem with my old version of microstudio version 2.103, so I updated to the latest version (2.612), thinking it would solve the problem, but not so.
The strange think is that my old computer was a Asus A7V with a onboard raid controller configured to a raid 0 array as the local (C) drive, and the old version, (2.102) worked fine. My old computer had a AMD 1600 XP processer.
My old computer shorted out and got fried so I had to totally build a new computer salvaging only the case. Now I can't install Microstudio, everything else on my computer works great and it is a fresh install.

Help appreciated,
Glen Conaway

Once Microstudio is upgraded, next 3-5 months this might be fixed. If the Hoster Demo will run under your System, then the new Microstudio should work, when it is finished.

MTUSUPPORT April 27th, 2006 10:05 AM

Here is the Answer from the Programmer that we purchased our ASPI driver from:

Quote:

Bryan,

That particular system vendor has a defective SCSI miniport driver loaded. Specifically, it rejects the IOCTL_SCSI_GET_INQUIRY_DATA command. I recall seeing this one time before, in a log file sent by you. That is the only time I have seen it, however. Bottom line is, I will not be able to provide you with a fix for this problem, because the fix lies outside of the things that I am able to fix. Was it NVIDIA? Whoever it was, their driver needs to handle the IOCTL mentioned above, or else the ASPI Manager software will not work.

Thanks,
Don
So the only way to fix this problem will be to wait for us to upgrade Micsrostudio to the new MMC code then it should work.

horseshoe April 27th, 2006 12:31 PM

If this is after our one year free update, will you still honor it for us?

Glen Conaway April 27th, 2006 02:54 PM

Hoster Demo Works

I tried the new Hoster demo and it works ok, I am able to use both my drives.

Also, I searched on Google for WnAspiNT (the title on the message box of the error i'm getting when I launch Microstudio), and I found some possible solutions.
This solution is found on a competitors fourm so I will not post the link:

1) remove any CD burning/authoring software (using the Windows
"Add/Remove" programs), including our program.

(note: After that's finished, go to "My Computer" / "C" / "Program
Files" and delete the entire ***********(Microstudio) folder (not just
its contents), making sure to move out any audio files that might be
stored in that folder first. Find and delete "cdrec.ini", "tour.ini",
"cdrec4.ini", "tour4.ini" and/or "machnm1.exe" (note: you MAY *[probably in our case]
not find some or all of these files).

2) Search your C drive for all of the following files. Delete any that
are found in ANY location:

(note: you may not find some or all of these files.)

winaspi.dll
wnaspi32.dll
aspi32.sys
wowpost.exe
wnaspint.dll
*aspi*.*

After this has been done, shut down your computer and restart it.

Rerun the Goldenhawk "aspight.exe" ASPI install program ONLY.

(found at:
http://www.goldenhawk.com, in the "Download area".
Click on "Golden Hawk ASPI drivers for....".)

Reboot.

Then reinstall Microstudio software.
I haven't had time to try this but it may be worth a shot.

MTUSUPPORT April 27th, 2006 05:06 PM

From what the Programmer had told me, is that your motherboard chipset driver is the one that needs to have the update.

This guy only works on ASPI drivers, this is all his company does, so he knows this inside out. He also is the one who wrote some for Goldenhawk.

So I would get the very latest drivers from your Manufacturers website for the Chipset driver on your motherboard.

Horeshoe,
As to the Upgrade, ADMIN will have to answer that one, as that next version, I think was going to be a pay upgrade for everyone. Not sure what he will do in that case.

We will grant everyone who is posted in this Thread and having problems with AMD processor/motherboards a free upgrade. When Microstudio 3.0 is released, contact sales@mtu.com, and reference this Thread and my Post number (upper right corner of my post). He'll get you a zero cost upgrade coupon. :w

Glen Conaway April 28th, 2006 06:28 AM

New chipset driver didn't help.

I tried installing the latest Nvida nForce3 driver from Gigabyte and it didn't help:f , so I went to the Nvidia website and tryed their latest driver and it didn't help either.:f
I wonder if this is a Nvidia driver issue or a aspi driver issue, after all the error has WinAspNT in the title of the error message box.:?
I have no time now but I guess I will try installing the Goledenhawk driver next to see it it helps.

horseshoe April 28th, 2006 10:54 AM

Thank you Admin. That is very generous and professional of you.

Glen Conaway August 20th, 2006 07:02 AM

When will Microstudio 3.0 be released?

When will Microstudio 3.0 be released?
I am still unable to use Microstudio, and I guess I will be until version 3.0 is released.

My old computer was Intel 3 gig on an Intel board. This is ASUS board and FX-60, which screams on everything else.

:m:f:c

I just built a new computer. Giga-byte motherboard AMD64 3800. I am using the same Plextor 712A I had in my other computer and it all works fine with Microstudio and Hoster. So it's not that it is an AMD64.

DarkMagic August 20th, 2006 02:25 PM

Hey Larry,

See post elsewhere. They are kindly offering an upgrade when the new version, which solves this problem, is ready.

horseshoe August 20th, 2006 09:33 PM

Larry, thanks for the post, but we already knew that. Many of us are running AMD 64's on our computers with absolutely no problems. It is the motherboard and drivers of certain computers that are the problem. In fact, I am using a computer almost exactly like yours right now with no problem. It is the one I use for most of my music ripping and testing that has the problems.

As DarkMagic said, Admin has gratefully offered an upgrade to us when the new one comes out. That is why this is an old thread. We are patiently waiting for the new one.

MTUSUPPORT August 22nd, 2006 11:39 AM

We still have no hard release date for Microstudio 3.0, as it is still in early testing.

When we have a date, it will be placed on the News Page located at: http://www.mtu.com/support/news.htm

It currently states August, but that will not be true. It will be pushed at least into September.

But the features it will have, it will be worth any wait. Don't ask, as I will not tell you what this means, but it will be the Best Microstudio Ever. You will find out when you get the new 3.0 Version.
