Re: importing karaoke

You should be able to use windows search, if your using Windows 7 enter the search string in the bottom window above the start button, press return then click the "see more results" that appears above it. When that window opens select "computer" from the row of places that show across the dialog, you can also search individual drives by going to start/computer highlight the external drive and enter the search string in the top right hand window of explorer.
If using older version of windows go to Start/Search and enter the string in the dialog.

What I would do is go to the Tricerasoft.com site again and find one of the songs you downloaded and note the disc id and use that as the search string.

Once you find one the path to it is displayed in the result but if you right click on it then select "open file location" it should take you to the folder and probably find all the others there as well.

I recently upgraded to a new laptop and was surprised at how easy (even for me) it was to transfer all of my music from my old laptop to my new laptop. I run my karaoke shows from an ASUS laptop with an external hard drive.
I had always imported from my cdg disks, but have had so many requests during a show for songs I don't have that I want to be able to download at a show.
To test my hope, I created a login at Tricerasoft.com and chose 14 songs to download. I chose the songs, "claimed" them, and downloaded.
The problem is now I cannot find where I downloaded them to.
Am I complete idiot? ... don't answer that.
I am just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Dee

Dee,

I also utilize a Tricerasoft account.

To answer your question above "Cannot find where I downloaded them to", it appears that with Tricerasoft just clicking save will direct your downloads to the last file you downloaded to or possiably a Windows Temp file.

Roy has posted some great instructions on how to locate the missing files. You can locate them that way or simply go back to Tricerasoft, login and over on the left side of the screen is the link for your songs that you have purchased "My Songs". Click that link and redownload them keeping the instructions below in mind.

In the future if you will select "Save As" you will be able to direct the downloads to any file you choose or create. For instance, I have created a "New Music" file on my desk top and any time I download a song I always select "Save As" and save it in that file. When I desire to search and play a song from that file I utilize the K-oke button in Hoster, navigate to the "New Music" folder and select the song.

One more thing, when I have 50 - 75 downloads, I import them into Hoster where they will become part of the database and will be searchable in Hoster.

Hope this helps!

Roy and Ken:
Thank you so very much for both of your advise!
I discovered out what I did, which was I clicked on "open" and evidently it downloaded, but not to my laptop. Cyberspace is vast.
I did go back onto Tricerasoft.com and redownloaded all the songs, exported each of them into their own special folder onto my external hard drive, and wahlaa, there they are!!
After all the songs were downloaded and exported, I did follow the Hoster directions to import them into Hoster. As I only had 14, it was a very managable import.
I have been very happy since joining MTU. I look forward to using it for many years to come.
Oh and by the way, I am running Windows 7 on this ASUS laptop.
Thanks again boys...
Dee
