Admin. The following is the setup of my DELL XPS M1530 laptop:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz (1662 MHz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
DirectX version: 10.0
GPU processor: GeForce 8600M GT
ForceWare version: 156.69
Total available graphics memory: 1022 MB
Dedicated video memory: 256 MB
System video memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 766 MB
Video BIOS version: 60.84.5e.00.08
IRQ: 16
Bus: PCI Express x16

Also, one of the songs that I have trouble with is: In Color - CB60374. I don't touch any sliders, buttons, switches, of knobs. It will be out of sync in 4.05.

I hope this helps. I am still faithful to this program.

I will send this one to MTU tomorrow

Tocayo! (Ricky)

No, I don't have that disc in my inventory! I only have Exitos Pop Hits 14 (XIV), I tried about 4 or 5 selections from that disc to see if I could duplicate the problem you are finding. I wanted to try this discount brand that sells at the Mexican Walmart, and another store called "Ley Supermarkets". I like the price, about $5.00 dlls/ US, but their online address doesn't allow individual song search, and I already have an extensive library of Multi Karaoke, and Cantare CDG's, and Sound Choice Surco Hispanico for my Latino Clientele. I live on the border and about 40 percent of my clients are Mexican, so this "Gringo" is trying hard to keep up with the new artists and their music, even though, as you probably know, the young people still choose the old standards, just like their American counterparts!

I only run XP on my two laptops, and the best fix I can help you with, is to take your color intensitivity down to 16 bits on your laptop and the singers monitor, and double check the drivers on your video card, to try and get your lyrics in sync!

Buena Suerte!

Audio Stuttering

This will also occur if you use the pause and resume buttons
I do a show during the week based on the Tv show "Don't forget the lyrics" and use the pause and resume buttons and with 4.5 the Audio stuttering occurs a lot with these buttons

I must say before I did these instruction my Hp Vista Laptop have audio and Video stuttering problem. After following the instructions, My Hp vista laptop works fine now.

I Just wish the Video Mux is working on this 4.05 so I could use my test machine to my show. Everything works great now and no problem.

Please have the Video Mux available on next upgrade.

Hi Bryan,
Have done as instructed. It certainly has helped with the stuttering and coming to a near halt, as long as I don't try to search for a song during playback. This is difficult if you are trying to run a show.

I have done all of the items listed (Did them a long time ago as I stated to admin in this thread) and I still have a lyrics out of sync problem in 4.05 (I can't even use 4.04). I sent my system setup to admin as requested (also in this thread). I'm happy to help resolve this issue and use 4.03 until then. The only problem I have with (and MTU is aware of) is not being able to play some of my audio files if they are not the right bit rate. I do know this was fixed in 4.05 because I checked it first when testing 4.05. then..... sync problem. ADMIN, MTU SUPPORT, DALE, and JIM. I wish there was a way I could let you all know how much I personally appreciate all of the help you give and hard work you have put into this MICROSOFT VISTA problem. Loyal User, Jack

We think we have found a problem in Hoster 4.05 and 4.04 that caused this on the 2nd display on our Vista system. We have just emailed a few people the beta 1 of 4.06 to see if we get feedback. I sent this to some of the customers in this thread. We are also posting this to our Beta Testers over the weekend.

Glad that the Changes for Vista helped some issues.

I hope you have it, you people have spent WAY TOO MUCH time on this problem that is clearly Microsoft's issue. I dont mean to imply you are taking too long, I just mean it's taking up too much of your time. I hope you know what I mean. Loyal Customer, Jack

One Post For Synch Problems?

I also have the out of Synch Lyric problem on both XP & VISTA. Can we get all of this discussion to 1 post so it is easier to track. I have been trying everything posted on the various posts, but this seems to be a common problem spread through several posts.

I found on Vista that leaving the white line on the Left (as another user found) does keep the lyrics in Synch on my Vista laptop. I did all the other steps posted & still need to do this.

I have one XP Desktop that works fine & an XP Laptop that still is out of synch even when I stretch the screen manually & leaving the white line at the left. It has all of the MS Upgrades (including SP3). It has netframework 1.1, but so does my desktop that works fine.

I have more computers that are not upgraded yet, but plan to go ahead & do so. 3.4 works fine on the machines that I have a problem with.

Also, I can run WMV Videios flawlessly on 4.05 but when a Karaoke song comes up it goes out of synch....Wayne:c

You need to update your .net Framework to at least version 2, but I would bring it all the way up to version 3.

When you say it has all the MS Upgrades are you talking about the "Auto" Updates or have you done the Custom Updates from the MS website? It seems that if you had done the Custom then you would already have had the .net Framework 2 and 3 versions. So if you have not done the "Custom" Updates then you don't have all of them which you do need to do.

I was getting the lyric sync problem until I bought the PC Pitstop (Optimize Software), which optimizes the Operating System ( to run all applications, windows settings, errors in registry's, eliminate unnecessary files, etc.)

I'm the first one to admit that I am computer challenged, but Hoster always worked, and I never had to touch my show computer until 4.xx came out. I wanted to use some of the new bells & whistles right away and incurred most of the problems described that could happen to XP computers! I am now running show without any problems, after I did the last suggestion to clean up registry, eliminate unneeded background processes, and reduce screen color from 32 bit to 16 bit. I only run XP, but if I was one of the Unlucky Vista KJ's that was still having problems, I would wait for the 4.06 upgrade to be released! Sounds like it should eliminate several of the problems still occurring with Vista / Hoster application. MTU will do what it takes to get both OS systems compatible with Hoster. I think you will be one of many to benefit from their efforts with the next upgrade!

Good Luck Tocayo!

Great to hear our suggestion fixed your stuttering problem. We are suspecting that HP has done something nasty in their computers. We're watching them to see what it might have been.

Video Mux: This has become a real bear. We're tried 3 different attempts to get this to work, and all failed. :e :m

We can either return to our older "Video Player" code in 3.321a/3.40 and massively recode our Show Display and loose some functions, or... we can delay Video Mux until we get our new Sound Manager code finished and tested. That's the direction we are now moving in as recoding Show Display would be extremely risky.

Our Sound Manager code has been under development for almost 2 years now, and has been partially in use in Microstudio since last year. It will allow us to give you new functions many users have requested over the years, such as:

1. Crossfade
2. Selectable Output ports to direct your Hoster Playlist out
3. Preview Play (in the Search dialog) with selectable different outputs than the Playlist
4. Video Mux
More..... ?????

We are working on Hoster 4.06 now to get it stable for you and... before the Christmas buying "rush" starts.

We won't have Sound Manager in it, nor Video Mux. We are truly sorry about this. It's a Microsoft problem that has turned out to be very expensive and difficult to overcome with the super flexibility we added into the Show Display. We are using Windows Media Player so our "video display" will auto-resize with a Marquee and Singers Name Display above/below it. :r

If you recall, our Video Player display in 3.321/3.40 doesn't allow you to move or resize it. You have to place the Lyrics display where you wanted it on Display #2, then we forced the Video Player to take on the same size and location settings. It was too complex for many users, and trying to get the Singers Name Display (SND) on the same screen, showing what you wanted it to, was even more awkward. Show Display solves all these problems, with the unexpected problem that WMP doesn't give us direct access to the audio stream so we can multiplex it. Wonders never cease coming out of Redmon, WA. :r :t

Thank you Jack! :)

Its a GREAT help in the "midst of the storm" to get some positive appreciation for what we all are doing.

I too wish to express my appreciation for Dale, MadJim and all the other "regulars" who, due to their extensive background and/or technical knowledge, invest their time here with valid suggestions and customer support.

With all the varieties of Windows/Intel/AMD computers available today, we simply can't support them all without a super team of helper/users who have those computers are willing to aid our diagnosing what's happening to "them".

OneEskalera October 13th, 2008 11:13 PM

Thanks ADMIN for your reply, I guess I have to wait till all are stable in 4.xx and the sound manager works for Video MUX.

I just have to stick on 3.4 for the meantime on my test/back laptop.

Again, Thank you so much.

What happened with this fix? I am hopeful that this might solve some of my problems. Like others, I've never had to re-design all of my computers before to get a new release to run properly. I install netframe work 3. 0 on my XP laptop that I have 4.05 on & it didn't make any difference. Would removing Hoster & Re-adding now that I have Netframe work 3.0 make a difference?

Wayne

ddouglass October 14th, 2008 12:51 AM

You shouldn't have to re-install Hoster after installing .net framework 3.0 but just restart the computer and that will take over for two.
The Beta version was made available for a few days only and a few did download it for testing.
Those people need to report their findings as only one has done so at this time. The rest of the testing is being done by the Beta Testers and MTU. So far it appears they have conquered the sync problem in Vista and trying to take care of some other small bugs before releasing the new version.
