The Songs.mdb file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Local Settings\Application Data\MTU\Hoster\Databases as stated in the manual under the Features Overview section. This was moved to satisfy Vista requirements for correct operation.

All the information to rebuild your Songs.mdb file is stored in the individual KMA file headers.

The KMA files are found in the folders you reference in the Tools menu Build Songs Database command. If you leave a folder out, its KMA files are NOT added to the Songs.mdb.

Bucket is ONLY use during importing KMA files to fill in the Artist, Title, Track#, and DiscID fields.

Song DataBase Problem After 3.19 UpDate

Allright that's the problem i'm having to redo all my corrections in the song database file using Access program If/when
I rebuild all that work is gone because the information is coming from the bucket file, so Question?

1) Why can't on rebuild the program scan all KMA files existing in the default directory to update file information to
the Bucket file, that way after KMA file correction Name, # or propercase correction is done everthing corrolates.

2) Why can't corrections be done in the Bucket file itself that way if you have to rebuild the song database it would
represent all that hard work you did in the fist place. Thx Joe..... :?

This is not correct. As Admin said the Bucket is only used on initial Import of songs to insert the information (Artist, Title, Track#, and DiscID fields) first into the table for the tracks that you see and can correct at that time or can use Edit Songs to make corrections later. Then when you click to Import the info is written into the KMA file header.
When you use Access to make corrections to the Songs.mdb instead of doing it through the Edit Songs then those KMA headers do not get the changes. So if you do a Rebuild of the database then you will lose all those changes.

On Rebuild all of the KMA file headers ARE read to recreate the Songs database. Even if it could update the Bucket that way, your changes would not be included because you only changed the Songs database.

This one is easy enough to answer. Would KJPro or any of the other karaoke songbook companies allow everyone to change their base database file? Not a chance. You can make corrections to your songbook that you create in their program but not the main listing. So if you create a new songbook your changes would not be included. What you are asking would not fix your problem anyway.

The only way you will prevent your problem from happening is to use the Edit Songs tool to make your corrections.

No , all that info comes from the KMA header which when first imported may or may not have gotten it's info from the bucket.

Rebuild does scan the KMA's. Access does not change KMA headers so if you rebuild you will lose any changes made in songs.mdb unless you use tools/edit songs to make the changes permanent beforehand. I think changing the song duration info is the only thing that won't change in the header this way.

I wish I would have known you could make the changes permanent beforhand. I have just over 1300 with Artist and Songs as UNKNOWN. But my fault, I shouldn't have changed them in access.
