Rick,

To take KMA files from your friend is breaking Federal Law in the USA. It's a very bad idea.

If you wrote KMA files to a CDROM and are trying to import them it will fail, which is indicated by the ABORTED message you see.

The Hoster Demo is not set up to play KMA files that already exist. The Tools menu "Merge KMA Files" command is disabled in the demo. That's what you would use to add existing KMA files into your Songs Database, which takes a few seconds per song to open and index them.

You need to get some standard Karaoke CDG discs to import KMA files into your Songs Database to test the demo. To import standard commercial CDG discs usually takes 6-8 minutes per DISC, not per track.

As to import speed, if a commercial disc is extremely poor quality, and you have a marginal CD/DVD drive for importing the CDG format, we have heard as long as 25 minutes to import one track. The drive itself keeps retrying to read the bad sectors to give you good data. It all depends on your discs and burner. Hoster normally imports a track in around 30 seconds.

If you use standard CDG discs to import, the demo works. It is illegal for us to distribute commercial songs even 8 seconds long. Thus, the demo requires you to import disc tracks you own.

I suggested that they included this information when someone downloads their demo.
