i'm not really sure but this one has a vga, s-video and an rca video out..i've only tried it on a plasma tv, and you might wanna try to get a y-cable and plugged it into the main video source , and split it bet. to tv.

You may just consider getting a new video card with the video out - is it an older video card? It just may be easier overall. If you try to split the video, you won't have individual screens for the host monitor & singer monitor.

Now I just got to do cd rom drive swaps - get my Plextor into this machine, the generic cd rom in this tower don't read cdg - really garbled audio & pretty color display on screen with no hint of words & the external HP dvd does ok, but lots of graphic glitches on scratched discs that I got perfect results from the PLextor.

Woo Hoo! I went to MalWart the yesterday & saw a clearance rack with 5 boxes of LiteOn DVD burners, my temporary machine didn't have a cdg compatible drive (even with Microstudio) so I took a look, they were marked at $20, picked one up & it works better than my Plextor as far as a couple discs that even it sometimes couldn't read well - even has the LightScribe capability. Going back tomorrow to pick up the rest for back ups - hopefully if they are still there.

thanks for that info Lonnie!

as for changing out the hardware on the laptop in question, it's my son's work laptop, so i don't think they want him getting inside there and changing stuff around. i bought a gateway with 1.6 processor and 502 meg ram (which i upgraded to 2gig for $80) from best buy. got the system with a bag for $350 bucks.

You could always just get an external drive or use a known current cdg compatible internal & get an external USB enclosure & plug it in on the side.

yeah that's what i do for kma storage and such. the origianl intent for this subject, though, was a was to get video out to the monitors without an s-video outlet.

Actually the original subject of this thread was requesting a fix for a problem with Hoster giving an error. It would really help if people started their own threads instead of tacking their problem on existing threads. Sorry but it just gets very confusing when you have multiple problems for multiple people in the same thread.
